which M4 AEG is the best?

as we may tell from the current airsoft market, M4 is the most common infantry weapon replicated by various companies.

I might not have chance to access all M4 replicas, nor the real steel..

Here I just wanna get what you would say about the M4 AEGs that you have experienced before...

Due to some funds crisis, I have so far only experienced with TM M4 and G&G M4...(JG doesnt count!)

Undoubtedly the TM gear box is a lot better but there are some limitations on purchasing mags TM guns are only happy with Japanese-made mags.
For G&G I would not say shit for that, completely a JG cyma equivalent(from the gear box's perspective) but as pricey as Japanese guns sometimes.

The companies that have made M4 AEG are primarily TM ,Systema,Classic army,King arms,G&P,G&G,SRC,VFC,KWA,ICS,STAR,ARES..

extra question:amongst all the replicas which one is the most realistic?(has the closest specifications to the real steel).

That is a very subjective question so expect very subjective answers. First off, how much are you willing to spend? Second, you did not specify want you want from your M4. Are you the type of guy who loves rails and everything Magpul? If you don't care for those frills, the "best" M4 you can get new for about $350 is the King Arms. It's outstanding externally and much better than many guns internally. VFC is another top tier brand, though they tend to be a bit pricier than KA. G&Ps are nice too but they are pricey, the ejection port cover does not close(big deal for me), no working bolt catch, and the externals are prone to rusting from what I've seen. I agree with you 100% that G&G has shit internals and I'd stay away from them. Star/Ares are innovative when it comes to their quick spring change system. Other than that their guns are meh. As for the other brands you listed, when it comes to standard AEGs, I wouldn't waste my time with them.

IF you desire a realistic AEG, TM has a SOPMOD system that offers the most physical recoil in an AEG. It also has a realistic bolt catch system. Downside is that they take proprietary mags and batteries and they cost a arm and a leg.

Systema PTWs offer the most realism in terms of dimensions and the ability to use real steel furniture. Downside is that they cost an arm and 2 legs and both testicles. For that much, you get an AEG that doens't necessarily shoot better than a standard AEG and has a pot metal receiver.

good point somewhere!

my bad for not clarifying something worth discussing.

the price range would be around 500 as most of us can accept. (Systema can be crossed off)also no consideration into upgrades just rate the original performance.Overall I would say TM is overwhelming!

I have an ICS M4 and its amazing. I love the split gear box. If you play in both Canada and the US it makes swapping springs out very easy to comply with the CBSA etc. The only thing i didnt like about it is that it doesnt have a front RIS. You had to put the battery in the front stalk and it was a bit of a pain in the ass and the front has a wabble.

However you can buy front ends for them for about 200$, but not really worth it cuz you could probably get a KWA or G&P and wouldnt have to worry about a front end.

KWA or VFC if you have the money. VFC being better externally, KWA is probably a little ahead internally (really impressive internals on their 2GX series)

King Arms if you are on a budget.

TM's were made for 300 fps. Nylon bushings, etc, need to be replaced if you upgrade the spring. Externally they are not as solid as some other models that I've named but they get the job done. They are expensive for their type, but if you keep them stock internally they'll never (almost) die.

If you are keeping your gun stock externally ICS makes a nice M4 that shouldn't be overlooked. One can be had for as little as 300, and the split gearbox design really makes them a breeze to work on. Downside is many of their parts are proprietary.

Really? Your G&G and KA mags (lowcaps?) don't work in your TM M4?
Maybe you need to do the BB retainer modification?

From experience the King Arms tops the list followed by G&P and Classic Army. VFC/Socomgear/Echo 1 are good bang for the buck

Typically you can make any AEG perform extremely well as they all shared the same principle of operation via gearbox it's the individual internal parts that counts obviously teh parts and QC varied from each manufacturer but they are all essentially the same, King arms in my opinion have one of teh nicest body, great reliability out of the box and their price are quite reasonable. ultimately it's up to you and your budget M4 AEG are like barbie's for boys they can be accesorized to the tits and they can also be a money pit.

The closest thing to a real steel dimension is still the PTW but they are over your maximum budget of $500

I'd give a vote for VFC, even if it may go a bit above what you've saved up.

@ OP you can get a full metal King Arms M4 for $340. Hell for that price you can get the gun, a full set of mag, a battery and a charger for $500.

I won't say where as this post is not in the restricted section. PM me for the info if you want.

That would probably not rank among the best M4 models.
