KSC M945 Compact Issues Please help.

Without going into the details of my fumble-fingered incompetence, I've irreparably damaged the frame of my KSC M945 Compact to the point that it is essentially non-functional. I've managed to salvage every other component, but now I find myself wondering about my next course of action.

Should I start looking for a replacement frame or write it off as a loss and put the parts up for sale?

I'd look for a donor pistol with some other part wrecked that you can cannibalize the frame from. Don't forget to include KWA in the want to buy ad.

In the meantime you may want to buy another pistol to game with. Things like this can take some time.

Even if you didn't live in Canada that would be a very difficult piece to replace. I think that may be a write off unless you can find someone else with a broken m945.

I don't have a camera.

In any case, I would have to say that the damage is to the extent of rendering the pistol unable to fire, and is entirely the result of my absent-mindedness and subsequent desperate (but highly misguided) efforts to correct my error.

If all attempts at acquiring a new frame fail, is it possible to cut down a full-sized M945 frame and use that instead? I know that the M945 isn't exactly easy to find either, but it might be easier than trying to look for another compact frame.

Wrong section too. Good luck with your fix, I haven't seen many of those pistols but it seems as if you are going to have to find a new frame probably from a parts gun.

Bump.

I really don't want to resort to selling off the parts, but I'm rather short on cash so I may find myself forced to if the alternative is far beyond the original acquisition cost.

Even then, I don't even know whether that is feasible, because I don't even know how many people own the same gun.

At $48 its worth it to try and import it yourself. If you're not comfortable with that there's gentlemen in the classifieds who will help you bring it in for a significantly higher price.

My pistol's the compact version. While both the full-sized and the compact version are incredibly similar to the point that I used the m945 assembly chart to take apart my gun, I doubt that the internals will match up perfectly.

All the same, it might be worth asking them if they have spares for the Compact available.

Lessee...

No spares for the compact, and according to the person who emailed me back, the standard frame is not compatible. I'm still not sure about the latter statement, since the chart for the standard pistol and from what I can see of the compact very nearly line up exactly.

So that's one option out the window. Other two options: find a replacement frame or a junker pistol. First option seems increasingly unlikely, and I doubt that the second one will be able to come about any time soon.

Does anyone own or has owned both the compact and full-sized, and are able to comment on the differences between the two?

compact and full sized are NOT compatible after trying it out to mix and match lower frame and slide. the only item that is compatible is the magazine as the full size will fit into the compact, but not the other way around. the slide/magazine lock, magazine release is the same, and i think that is all.
