Angry very unhappy of Shooter's Design slides

As the title says I'm quite unhappy:
I got 2 slides for a ksc Glock 26 that is stock.
I broke the first slide tuesday at a game after approx. 10 magazines.
I broke the second one this morning after 1 magazine and a half.

they seem to be made out of metal but where it's broken you can clearly see it's more like silvery cookie dough.

So there, that's my rant.
bad slides. wasted money.

Were they cast or billet version?

Could be QA problem or batch problem. Too brittle for the required stress. Let the seller know.

Sounds like a bad batch. I accidentally banged my SD USP Tactical slide with a mallet a couple of times trying to get the front sight in, and it seems OK. I've run a few mags of BB's through it and all is fine.

was it a stock gun? or was it souped up? if it had highflow valves and heavy hammer springs and the like it could simply be kicking too hard for a glock slide to handle... im assuming it's cracking near the recoil spring where the slide is thinnest?

*edit* NVM just re read and noticed you said it was stock

yes it's stock.
And I don't really think it's a bad batch because I ordered both slides separately, in different stores, one in country and the other not, at different times.
It does really look like a crappy metal rather than some quality alloy that would be victim of some suprise fail.

Maybe it's a knock off? That looks like really cheap pot metal.

It's hard to say, I don't know if it's the focus or not but the grain on one side looks different from the grain on the other.

It's the same, the focus is a bit off so the larger part is a bit blurry.

if you want to try to salvage it you can do what I used to do with plastic glock slides that break there, glue the piece back on so it will stay in place while you work, drill a 1/16th hole on each side of the opening straight up through both the broken section and through to the good part of the slide, and then put a steel pin in each hole, i did that to my first GBB pistol, a plastic slided KJW glock, and it held up for many months before i sold it, though it may be tough on that one because hte sub compacts have that bevelled front end, doent leave alot of room to work with

Are you running the small o-ring on the end of your Recoil spring, right at the end it broke at? That helps take some of the harsh impact off that end of the slide.
