G&G MP5 SD5 issue, potential gearbox
Hi,
I have had a problem with my MP5 since I purchased it off the forum. Initial Problem: With gun ready to fire, fully charged (verified with another gun) battery, the gun will make a slight sound when trigger is pulled (as opposed to no sound with battery disconnected), but will not fire. I was also noticing a complete loss of power occasionally. I traced this issue to the loose male mini connector on the gun side of the battery connection. The crimps were loose in the connector. Having taped this up, I went about a month, maybe 2 full battery charges, of plinking with no loss of power, or fire problems whatsoever. Then, of course the night before a game, I just connected a fully charged battery to find my gun wouldn't fire again. It is getting power from the battery, as a trigger pull will result in a slight sound from the gun again. I imagine this is a problem with the motor or gearbox, and have no experience and very little time to spend to figure out this issue. I am in the Kitchener/Waterloo region, and am able to travel if necessary, and would like to have a seasoned gun doctor in the area have a look if anyone has the time. Thanks

That's a big problem with the cheap G&G's - crappy piston heads.
A LOT of people have had those shatter on them. |
