My Vietnam Rifleman and Gunners loadouts (MkII)

Fine tuned my 'Nam G.I impressions...

Got the proper towel, more canteens and a extra belt of ammo for the Pig. Also got a 7.62mm ammo bandolier for the '60 with the cardbox (in real life containing ammo, in the world of airsoft: flashbangs and batteries)

M16A1 is Classic Army M15VN with G&P M16A1 flash hider, the M60 is the new A&K version over my old TOP.

She is one mean mutha: she spewed over 6000 bb's in one morning without breaking sweat, very accurately too. I swapped over to the M16 as a request from the opposition!

One drawback is that she uses a incorrect ammo pouch for the ammo bag at the side, its a more modern OD affair with velcro straps to keep the feed tubes and winding mechanism in place.

It was pleasing bucketing down with rain for my Rifleman photos, added to the Jungle realism!

Where'd you go for your gear?

I'm trying to source M1956 web gear in canada, most the surplus stores around here carry 82 pattern Canadian webbing.

Probably aren't going to have much luck if any in Canadian surplus stores.

Aside from buying the kit off someone off ASC or another Canadian board you are going to have to buy from the US.

There are people here in the forums getting rid of their kit... like skeltor said, check the gear classifieds. I've seen them pop up. The hard thing to find is LC2 gear like butt packs and such lol.

Smile

Thanks for the great feedback guys, makes ones efforts appreciated *sniff*:salute:

The M60 is twice the weight of my old TOP M60 but by God she is a animal....

I have 2 cupboards in my flat FULL of kit and AEG's, it really is getting silly now. I scared the plumber that was round for some work when he opened one of them to find the water shut off and he got the scare of his life when he essentially saw what looked like a IRA arms dump instead....

Here is a run down of where I got my kit, I am afraid most of it is from Soldier of Fortune in the UK or Ebay. Bear in mind also I got most of my kit when airsoft was just starting to take off and everything was still a bit cheap:

Old M1 steel pot: £20 from ebay.
helmet cover: £15 from ebay.
helmet band: New one with reflecters removed, £3 from ebay.
Nam era helmet chin strap set: £5 from Soldier of Fortune
scarf: French Vietnam website, expensive but with some excellent kit.
Jungle fatigues: $60 from Texas army surplus store in 2006.
2 x webbing belt: £30 ebay
3 x M56 pouches: £35 ebay
M911 holster and ammo pouch: £30 Soldier of Fortune
Compass pouch: £2 ebay
8 x canteen pouches: 4 from ebay: £30, from from French site: £40
M1967 H harness (large): £10 from ebay
M1956 H harness (large): $30 from Omaha's Amry Surplus, US website
Jungle boots: £35, S.O.F
fake smoke grenades: £20 ehobby asia
dog tags: $10, Texas army surplus store
Name tapes: $10, Texas army surplus store
25th division patch: £6.99 from S.O.F
Corporal stripes: £6.99 from S.O.F
Flak Jacket: £90 from S.O.F (VERY lucky to get this large size, very rare nowadays...)
Fake Lucky Strikes: (£1.50, ebay shop specialising in old cigarette packets)
2 x 50 rounds of 7.62 mm ammo: Ebay (2007, but inert ammo is banned now I am afraid)
M16 strap x 2: £30 S.O.F
M16 short mag bondolier: £5 S.O.F

Are those smoke grenades or the blow you up kind? I need to find 2-3 authentic (and importable cheap) ones.

I also still need a source for my m-16 rifle. Seems the local place can't get any stock ;/

Nope, a very repro BB container: $20 for 2 grenades, one yellow one red, from WGC or Ehobby asia.

The classic army M16A1 is available from most Hong Kong sites as far as I am aware, have you tried WGC or UN Company?
