Hi, I am a fairly new person to forums, so please to be to angry if I make any mistakes. I have a very important question. I was looking for a good a reliable c02 sidearm and found 2 pretty cool pistols, but can't decide.

the first one: WE Silver Dragon 5.1 B Version (velocityarms) pros: good quality, metal, good looking.... cons: slower (270 with .20 c02)
The second one: KJW Beretta Elite Metal Slide - Silver (buyairsoft) pros: fairly good looking but not as cool as the WE, metal, faster (325 with .20 c02)

I play some Cqb, but also some woodlands, and want a pistol that will be accurate (out to 40 feet max.) and most of all reliable! Any help would be great, thanks

Out to 40ft max? What the hell? I can throw chewed gum that far and get a kill!!! Load it up with 0.28g or heavier and go for the 100ft+ kills with it.

Seriously. And why do you want a CO2 pistol, just out of curiousity. Can't buy propane easily (even though sold at same store you buy CO2 from)?

If you want reliability, don't get a WE. They WILL break on you. Get the KJW if you have to choose btw the 2. Get Av'ed while you're at it and you will find good deals on full metal guns on the classifieds.

WE's Pistol line are known to be pretty low on the quality and reliability. If you are relativley new to the sport i recommend you get Age Verified and buy a KWA. Im not meaning to sound like a fan boy, but their pistols are fantastic in reliability, because of their NS2 system.

The range is roughly 100ft with .25 (at least thats what i've seen) where all of the bb's (10 rounds) hit the target (4ft x 2ft).

Yeah, basically that and sometimes, I play in colder environments, and I've heard green gas is not good in the cold

Ok, CO2 is better for that, but you won't have the gas endurance you do in warmer weather. Likely get 1/3-1/2 the shots of what you are used to, at least based upon my experience with pellet guns years ago in the winter.

There is also the cheaper Crosman C-11 airsoft pistol, is compact, around $100 at Canadian Tire stores (go on sale every few months for less), are non-blowback (which will greatly increase your shots per CO2 cartridge, even in cold weather) and have only a 15 round mag (others available in pairs). Might be a good alternative for cold weather and you can buy a gas pig GBB for summer use.

How many shots can you get out of a gbb mag?, I've heard they last not as long as c02, but what I might do is just buy a gbb, and c02 mag for it

I can expend a full mag of 25 rounds, reload at least 15 more round on my TM g17, we p14, and TM mk23. The g18c in full auto is only about 25 rounds worth because of cool down.

It depends of the size of the magazine. Most 1911 users will not go through 25Rnds, while Glocks have larger mags, so can accomodate more gaz, therefore more shots. I normally get 35+ Shots on G19 20Rnd mags.

depends on the mag...and type of pistol...how fast you shoot (with propane)

A TM Hicapa 5.1 can get just about 65 shots...with the last few being substantially weaker. 4.3 mags can get about 55-60....again, the last ones are poor though.

A TM 1911 mag might not get 30.

A 50rnd Glock mag might get 70+...but not as many if you're rocking a full auto GBB.

Some upgraded gas guzzlers are hard pressed to get a dozen shots.

Most guys top up the gas in their mags when they reload BBs. If you're using a pistol a lot (or as a primary)...you're going to want enough mags to get by without reloading. How many is "enough" is up to your shooting style, how long the game is, etc...

Ambient temp is a big factor.

The new 50 round Glock mags also seem to be dependent on how full your propane tank is. The fresher/fuller the tank, the better the chance you'll get more shots at the same power/performance level than with a half full one. as of now with a less than full propane tank I can get out 42-44ish rounds before it goes puh, puh, puh for 3 rounds leaving a few in the mag.

65 for hicapas? I need to test my p14 again. Same mags.

I'm going on rough numbers...33/mag...2 loads of BBs on one gas fill (stock TM 5.1). I hardly ever do that...and you do have to shoot at a spaced out pace (i.e. 1 shot every two secs)
