Which SCAR-L is the best?
Hey everyone, this season comming up i want to look into getting a new gun. I want a SCAR-L but i can't seem to decide on which brand i want. From what i can tell there are four companies that make good quality one's; G&G, CA, VFC, and Ares. Anyone have some opinions on which brand is making the best one when it comes to quality and performance?
(I'm not set on G&G, CA, VFC and Ares, other suggestions are welcome). Last edited by Kennedy; November 25th, 2010 at 09:29.. Reason: Changing specificity |

Myself and two teammates have G&G SCAR-Ls. They are outstanding.

the echo 1 ones aint bad either, and possibly the cheapest. however if you want tan, the E1 scar's upper reciever is the most off out of all other brands.

If you want tan, you're best to paint it yourself, in my opinion.

Very happy with my VFC Scar-L. It's been easy to upgrade shoots reliably, looks great, feels better.

I like my Ares, for a few reasons. you can buy different outer barrels which house the inner barrels, so swapping barrels takes 5 seconds and you're set up with sniper, standard length, or cqb length.
Changing the spring takes 30 seconds, and can be done with minimal tools, none of this taking the mechbox apart jazz to get the fps you need. Comes with a microswitch assembly instead of normal trigger contacts so it'll survive with a lipo. Been running an 11.1v in mine and it's doing well. |

If you're on a budget go with G&G, if you aren't and want a AEG go with VFC, and if you're rich get a WE. Oh and if you like looking for replacement parts online buy a CA.

I'm not rich (minimum wage job and no daddy paying for toys) and still find it moderately affordable.

There have been countless posts on which Scar is the best. Try using the search button.
I have a VFC Scar. It's awesome and I love it. Fires well, well built and no wires going from the stock to the rest of the body. Disassembling the gearbox is a different story. It's a little complex and may cause some headache if you are unfamiliar with it.

I'm in the same situation as you, and I'm also in college. I think that to have a decent loadout for a WE SCAR-L you'll need mags, which aren't cheap and need to be maintained often. Not to mention all the upgrade parts you'll need to get it working consistently. SCAR-L AEG's work out of the box well (9 times out of 10), take many kinds of armalite mags, which are cheap, and don't need to be replaced or maintained often.

Oh yeah, AEGs are MUCH cheaper mag wise but that's pretty much the only downside really. High quality replacement parts are actually quite cheap for GBBRs compared to AEGs.

There must be a dozen threads on this forum discussing problems with the WE GBBRs. I would stay far, far away from them. For AEGs, there are several good brands, but VFC is, hands down, the absolute best.
