Just a quick question, is the swiss arms sig 552 a decent aeg for my first aeg.

No. They're prone to quite a few problems from what I hear. There are many better options out there, like getting verified and buying from ASC.

I have one myself, prone to breakage cause it's plastic body, bb jam is also a frequent problem, same as selector switch not functioning.
There's no quality control on these sigs so they are pretty bad in quality.

I had one and it was fine, my brother bought one at the same time and he still uses his with no problems at all. Plastic body is prone to breakage; as will all plastic body guns. Treat it with some respect and it should last you a long time.

Mine performed great, but the transparent plastic body was crap and broke where the front pin goes in.

The clear plastic body can break, as with all clear plastic bodies.
Internals are fine.
BB jam issues are most likely due to people using garbage BBs instead of decent BBs.
For the price, it is a decent starter AEG.

I had one, served me ok despite broken parts when it arrived. Selector switch died on it too. They are very tricky to dismantle... I do not recommend it unless you know what you are doing.

But, it shot straight and pretty hard.

I have one. Painted it. Someone said it wouldn't last one game. It was fielded 7 times this year and it's still going strong.

The swiss arms sig was my first aeg, fielded it twice and the selector switch screwed up, cant pull the trigger even though it's on semi or auto.
shot great though, when it was working.
and their plastic bodies are no where near other manufacturers, they are low grade abs plastic, crack easily.
If you want a sig 552, TM is a sure bet. High grade polymer can take a quite beating.

I have sat back for the last two years while people make worthless posts. When someone asks a question, answer it if you have specific knowledge of the topic. In your case, I take it you have no hands-on experience with the original gun in question? Your first post indicates that you have HEARD that the gun may have problems. For the love of God, people need to STFU unless they plan on answering the question posed by the OP. Myself, slad3d, bomber439, ATF-Hatman, Disco_Dante, and tte404 have actual experience with the gun being asked about, therefore, we gave our thoughts which are actually relevant. You HEARD from someone that there might be problems.

Try this - I heard you are a transvestite performing in a gay Las Vegas stage show at the Flamingo. I have no actual knowledge of this, but I heard it from someone. Does that make it relevant if someone were to ask "Does anyboday know Strelok?" No, this 2nd hand information has absolutely no relevance to the original question posed.

I apologize for the rant, but I am tired of having to read through garbage to see what real answers are being given. The OP probably has easy access to the Swiss Arms 552 and that is why they are asking about it. As a community we need to do a better job of leaving out the BS and giving straightforward answers so people can make informed decisions.

So, I suppose my original interest in buying one of these about 2 years ago is invalid.

I did my research, I read the threads on this forum regarding this gun, I read what people that have handled the gun has had to say about it. And my conclusion is that it is not worth it in the long run. The gun is prone to problems and like many clones available, there are always a few in the masses that actually manage to preform alright without fucking up. Personally, I don't like taking any chances with quality.

You do not need to own or physically 'experience' a certain gun to have a 100% valid opinion on it as you seem to be getting off here. And its kinda funny, people seem to get pretty butthurt when someone actually takes the initiative to help another along and give them the option of buying something better for the buck, or at least persuading them to save their money for something more worthwhile in the future.

I mean hell, I'm getting my information from individuals that have had issues, 'experienced' the gun and whatever. So passing on that information is wrong? If you want I can totally scour this site for problematic posts and link them right here for you.

For example, almost everyone in this thread has at least mentioned one or two rather nasty issues with this weapon that can render it ungamable. Breaking body pins, trigger not working, breaking selector switch, etc. Do you honestly want to recommend something like this to somebody looking in to getting a new gun? Do you really want to send them off to buy a piece of shit that will be more of a money sink than necessary?

Well sure, go ahead. Once I find a post by Mansopoor asking how to fix (X issue) with his cybergun 552, I'll know exactly who to look to.

There you go my boy, you have validated your opinion as being relevant. Would it have been so difficult to say in your original post that you had thoroughly researched this gun a couple of years ago when you considered buying it?

I have no particular love of this gun, just an opinion based on experience.
