P90 Noise reduction
I have a KS P90 and I really hate the sound of it, most likely because the gearbox is just where my ear is when I shoot it. So the question is what can I do to reduce the noise this baby does?
Thanks. |

Wrap the battery in a sock.

Have the gearbox shimmed perfectly and the motor tuned to the optimal height and it will reduce the noise coming out of the gun.

I used to just put a plate and some cushioning against where the sounds was coming from

ARS POM Piston head
Double O-ring cylinder head w/ Sorbo tablet Light weight piston Prometheus double torque helical gears shimmed to perfection, G&P M140+ that's been run on a motor lathe to ensure the comm is perfectly round. Kanzen universal bearings (the ceramic make more noise than the standard, but spin better) Airseal nozzle, perfectly sealing hop-up system and rubber, Non-linear spring Rotary spring guide Barrel to the end of the stock gun's barrel then an additional 5+ inches of silencer. Dynamat or another type of adhesive noise reduction stuff on the inside of the body around the mechbox. |

Yup, that just about cover all of it. And if after all this and it's still too loud, just don't plug in the battery..

I just tried my AK Silencer, and it already makes a BIG difference, thank you all.

get a cylinder head with sorbo pad's and shim your gears well and get a rotary modify spring guide vr. 3, basically what AMOS said.... That will silence your gearbox quite a bit. Goodluck

Get a G&P motor. I only had experience with the M160 but I think it's safe to assume that any G&P motor will sound nicer than the stock one.

Unless it's a TM motor, the EG700's are one of the quietest motors I've seen.
But the M140+ line is SUPER nice I've got a 170 Devil Jet sitting in my G3 right now |

How much more performance does the M170 offer over the M160? I can't imagine the types of springs you could pull with that kind of motor!

I saw a very noticeable increase in rate of fire. My G3 before was about 14BB/sec on a 120 spring, now its about 18-20
(I've got a torque setup, not a speed setup) |
