M4 Upgrade Part Suggestions
I've got myself a Star M4 that I'm looking to get to around 400 FPS
I currently shoots around 270 FPS so yeah... I'm sure there are some tired parts in it. Any ideas where I should start. Also any idea what this gun should be shooting with a 9.6v 1600 Mah battery in it for Rounds per sec/min. Just curious to see if the motor is worn out perhaps. Thanks, Wesley |

Well to start with for most outside games 400 fps is the limit not the goal. If you are looking for more range more fps is not always the answer. But a gun sitting around 375 fps is pretty decent for outside. So what I would suggest to start is a new spring and a tightbore 6.03 and a decent hop up rubber.

On every single STAR/ARES I had the hop-up/inner barrel was a pain in the ass in term of leaks.
What you can do : find yourself some silicon seal at Canadian Tire (or alike) and put some to make the cylinder and cylinder head sealed, then change hop up, hop up rubber and inner barrel, you absolutely cannot change one and not the two others because they are specific to ARES, not in the main design but on the dimensions. A factory ARES or STAR is supposed to shoot around 320/340 for M4 and G36K types. |

Well.... 400 FPS isn't my goal.... just the general area where I would like my gun to be at...
