AEP's not so common?
As title says.
Are they shittier than gas? or are there any other stronger points that make them sot so common around here? (barely see any in the classifieds) and topics, for that matter. I'm looking for a sidearm, but i don't know anything about gbb's and such. So, yeah. XD |

I owned a CYMA glock AEP it was decent as a plinker or indoor gun but I'd never want to game it outdoors. The velocity on AEP's is pretty limited to below 300 fps in most cases (honestly haven't heard of any shooting faster). Go with a GBB if you plan on using it outdoors at all. AEPs are only good in the winter cause they do not face the same issues as their gas powered counterparts... Even still I'll take an AEG in the winter.

this forum would be a great place to start finding all kinds on info on both AEPs and gas guns. Also not trying to sound like a douche but did you try the search bar here? Thats where I found all this stuff when I first started.

Crackers

the aep's are underpowered, and often useless in any sort of skirmish

AEP's are uncommon.
However I have twice this year seen experienced players use them as an effective sidearm in skirmishes. Yeah I was surprised too. Who'a a thunk it? To each their own.

We got a two guys out here that actually use AEPs as there main in mid range/cqb games. One guy uses a TM glock and does well. The other guy uses a 93f? *the full auto beretta* and does very well in cqb games with it.
Its a different play style than sit back with a lazer gun and pew pew 400 rounds until one finally hits the guy by fluke. Also with an AEP you will want to carry a few batteries into battle as they tend to chew them up quickly. |

if you are set on getting an AEP you might want to consider getting an MP5K, MP7 or Scorpion.
All of then are small enough to use as a side are and might give you better performance then a pistol. just a thought

on the plus side though AEPs are more reliable IMHO. The brand name ones anyways, dunno about the knock offs. Just stay away from EBBs those are so bad.

I had one last year. They are big and clunky IMHO. Hard to draw. I had mine in a leg holster and it slowed me down because it flopped around, I put it in a hip holster and it was a bitch to draw and always in my way.
A pistol should be used for quick shots, the desert eagle was harder to snap shoot with say than my hi capa or even my mac11. |

At your next game as the others to check out and hold their pistols, see what feels good and you are comfortable holding and shooting then go from there
