Gun Sounds Jammed, Nothing in the barrel, nothing blocking air flow...
Hey,
So this has been going on for awhile. The gun sits say for 15 min, the i pick it up to fire and it sounds like its jammed but their is nothing in the barrel, its clear. After a few shots is stops. I took apart the gearbox and nothing was blocking the airflow in the cylinder and air nozzle and the piston head was on tight. What could be happening? Specs: KN TN 6.03mm 455mm barrel Prowin AK hopup SCS Systema Rubber Element Air Seal Nozzle Element Silent piston and cylinder kit Stock brass cylinder PDI 190% spring Perfect air seals.

are you saying it sounds jammed when there are bbs in it or it sounds jammed when dry firing? Have you tried (safely) turning it upside down and firing it to see if your airnozzle is moving?

It sounds jammed with no bbs. My air nozzle is moving. It sounds jammed for the first few dry fire shots, then goes away. The gearbox doesn't stop turning ? (i don't understand what stop turning means). I don't think its the battery, its a 9.6 3600 MaH Intellect.

I guess I should have said does the gun cycle. It sounds like it does.

Check your hopup rubber and see if it's torn.

good call stalker thats why I said "safely". should have clarified wearing your goggles or at least safety glasses as if you have something in the chamber it can actually shoot out through the mag well. So to clarify, the gun is cycling as in the motor is working, your air nozzle is going in and out of the chamber but it just sounds jammed? |

If the "jam" sound you're talking about is the quick awful grinding noise.. there's a chance your piston teeth are VERY worn down.

gears to tight?

I'm leaning towards this too, sounds almost like gears are "slipping" on the piston maybe. When you opened your gear box did you get a good look at your piston teeth?

Thanks for all the input guys. Its making that sound like a bb is jammed in the barrel, not a grinding sound. The piston is in excellent shape. I think it may be the hopup rubber. Thanks coachster. I remember it being a little torn. Just to clarify, it makes this 'jammed' sound for the first couple dry fire shots, then is fine after that. Then if I let is sit for say 15 min, i pick it up, dry fire it, and it makes that sound for the first couple shots. Very weird problem :/.

I have the same problem with the mk18 when I use certain mags. Try a different brand of magazine.

Mmmm, I don't think thats the case. I dry fire it with no bbs no mags in it and it makes that sound.
