strong v2 mechboxes?
Can someone recommend a manufacturer that makes really strong v2 mechboxes ?
Until now I've cracked Cyma, JG and even Systema. All in the same place, on the front part, around the cylinder head. They seem fragile specially in the winter. |

If you break these I'd be surprised. A lot of people like them for their durability.
Torus 7mm http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...oducts_id=1508 Torus 8mm http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...oducts_id=1571 Also, pretty much every gearbox is weak to the cold. Shouldn't play when it's too cold, and during the winter should store it in a warm place. Even my V3 took a good amount of punishment from a winter game. Won't be doing that again.

It's an inherent design flaw with the V2 system. If you run strong springs, expect to break mechboxes. Are you running sorbo pads? You can also try this product: http://www.v2fix.com/
As for mechboxes... CA has very good ones and the new Modify ones seem very sturdy as well.

G&P and a great big +1 on sorbo pads. Apparently you can run a TM (real weak) mechbox at 400fps continuously with an ARS sorbo cylinder and piston head!

*IF* you can find a CNC'd Haynes v.2 mechbox, those are the shiznit.

Weren't Haynes V2's like $170 when they were more common? I'd hate to see the pricetag on of those these days. Probably close to $300 just because they can.
Another alternative, apparently airsoft players in the Philippines like the Deepfire reinforced gearboxes, which I'd assume means quite a bit since the Philippines have a ridiculous FPS limit or in the case of some fields, no FPS limit at all (Talking 600FPS or higher). Just looking at the prices of the shells, they don't seem too expensive. I personally can't comment on them, just going off of feedback I'm looking up, but they seem to be all positive.

I think they wre actually like $300 USD - that was the main thing that stopped me from picking one up. He only did one run of something like 200 boxes, iirc.

It seems like all of them are made of zinc alloy except CNC which is made of aluminium?

Been running hurricane reinforced boxes pushing 350 fps for years..... Summer and winter....
bearing spring guide, stock tm piston and piston head, metal bushing and stock tm gears with a guarder m110 or systema m100 spring. Don't need any other upgrades.. except a TK barrel
