We 1911 meu does not fire ( missing spring? )
So yeah, after a few days with my meu, the finish started to go, so I thought i'd sand it and give it a nice silver finish. disassembling the gun was pretty easy, but re-assembling it wasn't I couldn't figure out what went where, after a while I finally figured it out, and while everything fits and works nicely now, there was a tiny coiled spring with two ends left after, and since, the gun does not fire, the sear moves and all, but for some reason it does not fire.
any ideas? thanks |

How about you check for TM 1911 manual and try to figure out where it goes.
As far as I know, there is not a single part in a GBB that is useless. If you have a spring, it means that something is not working. |

TM 1911 isn't close to a WE 1911.
I'm trying to think of any tiny springs with coiled ends, but I can't think of any off of the top of my head - care to take a pic of it, Ronan? |

Loading nozzle spring(s) possibly.

As far as I know, almost all trigger/hammer mech for GBBs are built roughtly on the same principles. |

Here you go, this might help:
Not sure about any springs with loops on both ends, like I said. It might be part 54, the valve knocker spring... but asides from that, I have no clue. Probably not... loading nozzle springs for TM/clones/TM-ish clones usually just drop right in. WE's are no exception to this, as far as I know. Ah, touche. Springs and screws and where all that stuff goes is different (TM 1911's/Hi-Capa's have rather different workings than a KSC Glock, for example). But, yeah, I think you're right. TM's have the same basic workings, and if you boil the basics of GBB operation down even further, KSC's also have the same basic workings. I stand corrected, Kos-Mos. |

the whole hammer system works, its when the hammer is released, no gas is ejected, just as if it was dry-firing

It does sound like the valve knocker spring. If your hammer system works from what you can see outside the gun, then something is wrong inside of it, and it really seems logical that it be the valve knocker.
Its never easy to explain these things by writing on the net, from experience your best way of resolving this is finding your gun diagram, dissasembling it, and reassembling it slowly and carefully, or even better, finding a video online of how it is done. The video option saved me when i did the same thing with my WE 1911. For the exact same thing actually, my valve knocker assembly came appart and all these small parts fell out, including the valve knocker spring. |

If it is indeed part #54, this is how it should fit:
The WE 1911 has a mechanism that requires the slide be racked before it'll fire (even if you manually cock the hammer); so it looks like the hammer and everything is working, but the valve knocker stays in the "not loaded" position.

Yup ^^
One thing to check during reassembly : the screw that holds this spring has to be loosened a bit so you can put back in place this part of the gun. Be careful, loosening it too much will fuck it up and your spring will pop out again. |

demanding are we lol any who.... Glad you got it fixed, i know sometimes the manuals show all the parts but placing them is a bitch. I received a WE 3.8 and it was in parts and took me a good 2 days to find where everything went..although still not 100% working correctly but it fires so good enough for now lol
