Close to closing a deal..Worried about shipping.
So i may have found a gun, however it is all black, not full metal or anything its just black with an orange tip.
The orange tip has been painted black. Is there going to be any problems having this shipped? I mean..I dont know a lot about what they do in post offices or anything or how they deem a package suspicious. I've also read on here that it is illegal in Canada for someone to go through your package? |

You won't have any problems for domestic packages, you don't have to declare anything either.
I don't know whether you can ship it via air or not though.

most retailers and private sellers will flip the box inside out if possible. If not possible then usually they will wrap the box in packing paper. Ask the seller if this is possible. Otherwise no as long as your not shipping compressed gasses you don't need to declare a domestic shippment. The only thing they really check for is drugs and that is through the use of dogs.

Standard is to flip the box and buy either the brown packing paper from a dollar store or christmas/birthday wrap from a dollar store and turning it inside out (so the white is showing). This prevents the slightly "transparent" wrapping paper from showing a gun inside the package and the package either disappearing somewhere with someone or some "concerned soccer mom" who may work at any point in the CP system to flag your package.
Also note it is a federal offence to open mail that does not belong to you however at times if a package has not been claimed for x number of days (I believe it may be 90 days) I believe the people at the depot can open it or something to that effect. If they ask what's inside the package just say they're model replicas for a hobby ("imply" it's a hobby like model trains or model gundams or something but don't outright lie to them) or just say toys.

Canada Post has no business what you're shipping unless it's dangerous goods (explosives, chemicals, biohazardous, etc).
Turn the box inside out and tape it up, or wrap it with newspaper/brown paper/etc and ship it off. If the CP employee asks what's inside, say none of your business (or it's a toy if you really want to say something) |

Working at a postal outlet I was not told to investigate what was inside anything, period. If something was to catch my eye it would have been perfumes that are flamable, or for money laundering traits in a person. The rest really did not apply, even the value of items was irrelevent in the sense that it only mattered if it got damaged or was improperly processed. Everything left at 4pm and the stuff on the shelves were for pick up. Inspected for a barcode(s), entered in the system and marked. They sat until delivered or returned, done. No one cares. If I even suspected something was odd, I had to call my supervisor who would have to call Ontario to get CP headquarters to dispatch someone to investigate. Oh and I could not detain an item... Though this was a licensed outlet operated by Mac's (like they do at shoppers) so maybe it was different.
