JG Compatibility
I haven't personally handled any JG guns (but pretty much every other brand under the sun) so after searching unsuccessfully, I thought I'd ask.
Are the JG guns exact TM clones? More specifically, would I be able to gut a JG M4-variant and drop the internals into a G&P Metal body? |

Yes, JG are exact TM clones.

But tolerances aren't perfect. Had problems fitting a Modify piston.
Anti-Reversal and Trigger can't stay in their place for long either, they are jumpy.

Getting a JG box into a G&P body is like gold plating poop

One hell of a conversation piece come Thanksgiving dinner?
"That's right, I have the Midas Touch." "But... poop? Why?" "Can you gold plate your own poop? No? Well I can, that's why."

I'd get a TM M16 if I could -- but nowadays, most retailers only sell shitty knockoffs and the only reasonably price M16 I've seen is JG brand. Pretty much the only AEG brands I "trust" are TM and G&P.
TM has been difficult to find lately. G&P is sold for RIDICULOUS mark-up by retailers. Not to derail my own thread -- but if they can charge a $150 mark-up for importing a $150 gun, could then not charge the same $150 mark-up for a $400 gun? Instead they choose to do a flat 200-300% Mark-up on the USD price (which makes no sense of course) and a $400 gun becomes $800 and a $1000 gun becomes $2000. The more expensive the gun, the more you support retailers overpricing. I refuse to do this -- and this is exactly why I am considering raping my own soul by using a JG gun. </long explanation> |
