Electroplated barrels
While I was Looking around for barrel upgrades for My AK, I noticed these electroplated barrels. They sound fancy, but I've never seen them before. Does anyone have any details about these? I also noticed that on 007 airsoft that they have these installed it some of their guns. Help?

And also, out of all that I saw I only found barrels that were 6.04mm in diameter, any 6.03s or even 6.01s?

Prometheus make 6.03mm electroplated barrels. Electroplating provides a harder wearing and self-lubricating surface. I can't speak specifically about the brand you're referring to, as you have not named the brand.

Basically the same thing as chrome plating, just different materials used, isn't it?

Chrome plating is a technique of electroplating, as are many others. "Electroplating" refers to the technique of applying a material to the surface of another material. Chromium can be one of those materials among many.

also, not all barrels are made to the exact 6.04, 6.03 or 6.01 mm diameter, Electroplating helps to achieve that goal.
By a mathematical formula, you can calculate the exact time to get a exact thickness of coating all over the inner surface of the barrel..... = TBB |

When I used to retail more parts and accessories , I sold Vanaras 6.04mm tightbore barrels. They were nickel-plated brass, and that nickel plating gave them a VERY smooth finish, which is a good quality in an AEG barrel.

Cause you know...everyone wants the lumpy, scratched, nicked, chewed up on the inside barrels.
