The TK barrels are meant to be used WITH hop up. They don't replace it.

he means like V notch hopup and SCS sorta thing... atleast I think so

Nevermind. I just recall reading somewhere long ago that a TK meant no hop up as well
But what it really was was the interview with Koba where he talks about prototype twist barrels where hop up component was removed

I recall watching the video of him saying his twist barrels use hop up as well to optimise the accuracy. One inherant proplem with hop up is it spins the BB on a single axis, it's unstable on other. Same as the twist barrel, spins the BB on a single axis. Having a backspin then spinning it sideways makes it more stable. At least my understanding of it.

my understanding is that it doesnt spin the BB, it creates a cushion of air around the BB with the air that gets past the BB via the grooves, pushing through air outside the barrel and making less of an impact for the BB as it leaves the muzzle....or something

I have two tk barrels there ok and they look cool there not as good as a tight bore and there only meant for low fps.

it IS a tightbore, 6.04mm, plus extra features its is more accurate than my prometheus electroplated tightbore, but there are other factors involved that I can't measure, so its hard to be conclusive

any time you put side spin on something perfectly round it becomes unstable.
besides airsoft that i love by the way. i also shoot real automatic weapons all the time all kinds everything from ww1 to present day and learning the way a projectile works is what i do best. just like real bullit will not stablize in a smooth bore. i have a mg 42 that has shot out barrel and now every shot that comes out tubles at 20 yards sounds kind cool. |

Like I said, the TK twist barrel doesnt spin the BB, read the posts
this thread is getting derailed, this isnt a debate on the merits of a TK twist barrel |

it accually does spin the bb side ways.

if it spun the BB the hopups backspin would be turning on an axis making the BB take a spiral down its path as the direction of the lift generated changes, which it doesnt, so I can safely say the BB doesnt turn
