TM AUG or CA AUG

I have my heart set on getting a Steyr AUG A1 or A2, but I want it to be a good one. I've narrowed it down to either CA or TM. I've heard both good and bad things on both AUGs either from TM or CA. I don't plan on keeping the stock internals, maybe replace them as they wear out. So really my question is which do you think is better, TM or CA?

Thanks.

I've only had experience with the TM AUG, but it was solid and there wasn't a thing that I didnt like about it

I'd go with CA, internals are a bit better - unless TM upgraded theirs, body is fiber.
I've had both and they're really close clones.

If you are swapping out all the internals then go with what ever you can find cheapest.

Heh all the Aug owners showing up. Cheers!

If you're planning to upgrade it, get a JG one. It's TM compatible and it is really a good price for what you get.
Only bad thing about the JG AUG is that it comes with nylon bushings (yes, ewww.) and shooting @ ~375 FPS

Although I could be wrong, I'm pretty sure CA uses fibre-glass reinfoced plastic, not nylon.

I believe the CA version is a better buy due to the externals. If you don't really give a damn about the externals, then perhaps go for the TM, as the internals are more reliable when stock. However if you're gonna change em out anyways, the CA probably has better internals to build upon.

If you are considering TM, you may also want to consider JG. My JG AUGA2 was one of the first ever made, got it back in 2007. It still runs flawlessly, and never had a single jam or misfire that was not caused by a mag.

One thing I will say, is that the foregrip is very wobbly on the JG, and I'm pretty sure the TM and CA have the same problem.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

yep, you can usually spot a new Aug by the still present folding grip. As Jimski mentioned the replacement parts are usually about $15 but are steel(so they say). they do feel heavier then the original pot metal piece.

CA Aug is coming in at M1, and will probably be a lot cheaper than what you can get a TM for.

I see the CA has an AUGs in the AUG series and some in the Sportline series. I think I'd rather go with the AUg series, but is there much difference?

Never buy CA Sportline, it's garbage made to compete with other garbage.

TM = ABS plastic
CA = fibre-reinforced nylon. It's the same material they use with with all externals on their higher end guns. It's a lot tougher than ABS.
