Gun lube?
Well my old springer hasn't been as charmingly... smooth as it was a while ago, and I haven't the piston it in a long time.
Where did I put that damned bottle of lube? Anyways, what can I use as an easily-available lubricant? I've heard you can just buy this and it'll lubricate as well as this. Thanks in advance. |

I personally don't like sprays at all, I find them messy and i find it just dose a poor job. But that spray will do what you want with no damage done. just never use WD40! lol

According to the MSDS it's got 50-60% petroleum solvents in it. I'd say no unless you want to turn your gun into a pile of goo

For a springer, white lithium grease. If you can, remove the slide and grease the parts where there is contact.
A spray-based product will most likely just run and drip all around and won't be effective. |

So what would be a good easily-available substitute?
The only reason I ask is because I don't wanna have to pay $20 (with shipping) for something that can be found locally. Last edited by Rooflez; April 24th, 2010 at 16:10.. |

Crappy tire has some brand of White Lithium that's been mentioned before. Not sure about the exact name, but a quick search of the forums will help.

I'm pretty sure that stuff has petroleum in it. Look for the stuff in a tube instead (not on the site)

go to automotive store ask for brake slider pin grease. Those are usually o-ring sale. I use them on lots of different rubber and for over the pass 7 years(on cars), I don't see them gone bad or crack. Good luck

The only reason I prefer Canadian Tire is that it's only a 5 (or so) minute drive from my house, and Capital Airsoft is about 45. |

I went to Canadian Tire last week. They have Lith-Ease for $3.59. If you go to an electronic store, they also say MDG White Lithium for triple the price.

Another option available is Silicone Grease. You find this stuff in little blue tubs in the plumbing aisle at Home Depot. This is rubber/plastic/metal/just about everything safe, and in my experience lasts a really long time. It's pretty thick stuff though, about the consistancy of toothpaste. I'm not sure if that helps, but it seems to me that it would work.
