And as an owner of an RS Type 56, I can tell you this is the ultimate airsoft gun, none barred. There's no doubt in my mind of the real-steel grade externals. And the hardened, heavy-duty internals are of a grade you just don't get in even high end AEGs, regardless of the country of manufacture. I was the first ASC member to get one, but now there are several of these in Canada in the hands of players. I've heard from several of these owners via PM, including PTW owners who prefer their new Chinese guns over their PTWs. But my point was that when RS first announced their guns, there were those (such as myself) who were eagerly awaiting first field trials and reviews before passing judgement. And then there seemed to be the majority of people who instantly dismissed these guns as crap because they were made in China - very much the same way these new PTW clones are immediately being dismissed as crap in this thread even before the first models are being shipped to the public. I don't have high expectations, but seeing how Chinese production techniques and quality control are improving by leaps and bounds, this product does have the potential to be what it claims - a PTW clone at a fraction of the price. They could turn out to be junk in the end, but also have the potential to be excellent guns for a great price. I'll wait till they're released and are getting reviews before making my final decision on them.

edit: Never mind, they still make them. "Most front-line infantry units in the PLA ground forces received the indigenously developed Type 81 7.62mm assault rifle in the 1980s to replace their ageing Type 56 weapon family. However, the Type 56 was never officially retired from service. The rifle continued serving with the PLA, particularly those non-combat units in the Air Force and Navy, as well as reserve forces, militia, and the PAP. The rifle was also exported to many foreign countries in mass numbers, and was seen in action in almost every conflict around the world since the 1960s. NORINCO continued the Type 56 production throughout the 1990s and even developed newer models for the export market. Many civil semi-automatic Type 56 rifles in a variety of models were sold in the U.S. market before 2003."

Got several Emails from Celcius. The gun's still in production, slated for September release.
"We are upgrading our website at the moment. This website will be ready before August 21, 2008; and you will be able to get a lot of information about CELCIUS products here. " Taken from their site www.celciustechnology.com |

This thing has been all over the PTW forums. When ever the expected date is to arrive they give us another '1-2 month'. Its already been 'delayed' 3 or 4 times already.
Smells like bs. Oh and their website has been 'upgrading' for like 3 month lol |

Well how many other products are like that? Even Systema's own Revolution gearbox has been delayed in such a way.

But the Systema PTW is on the market and has been for years. There's even some for sale here, from 2 "retailers" if you will.
Save up for the CTW if you want, but you won't be seeing any in Canada I don't think. Who's going to import them for you?

In 2 months from now, there won't be a retailer left to import it. Perhaps someone will come out of the woodwork so to speak, but odds are not.
It will be interesting to see if it hits the market, though.

Reasons for delays?
1) Manufacturing of imitation firearms is illegal in China. 2) It's the Olympics so law enforcement is alot tougher. 3) This is a high end production from China not just your regular clone AEG. |

I'll have one in 2-3 months. I won't elaborate.
There's enough evidence, including eyewitnesses and people in Asia to attest to its production, to convince me. Their site updated with a video of receiver production, PTW schematics and a transparent schematic of the magazine, if anyone cares enough to look. |
