I was planning to get the ICS AK74 but opted for a TM AK47 full stock.

Why? The TM AK has more history and is a tried and tested gun on the airsoft field. It is well used and a stable design while the ICS gun is new and still has a few bugs to work out. For the price I got my TM for I can upgrade to full metal and still have some money left to throw some wood stock on, compared to the ICS gun.

The biggest selling point was having a AK that looked traditional with wooden hardware. The ICS AK74 looks nice but if I wanted another all black gun there are a few other options.

Blackthorne has a G&G RK104. May want to ask him about it.

It sounded pretty nice when i heard it firing

AK

I've got both the ICS AK74 and the G&G both are nice AEG but the ICS version is better. The G&G stock shifts and has weeker internal parts than the ICS. I think ICS has taken the time to build a stock AEG that dosen't require any upgrades to shoot well. And to spare them from having unqualified gunsmiths drilling holes in the bodies they added the scope rail for you. The G&G costs more also. :smack: I put a metal piston head in my ICS AK with a spring upgrade and she just pounds the balls out. :-D

Ahhh, yes. Another revived old post.
When you find something that has been dead for weeks, months or years, it's okay to not reply to it.

Everyone is new to a forum at some point.

When I first came here, I revived two three year old threads and got flamed on both. After that, I realized that I had been reading into the archives too far and I began to look at dates on threads.

It's a learning experience.

From reading all of the reviews my first AEG will be the ICS AK74M, well not exactly my first, as some of you may remember I had a UTG MP5 and a TM AK47 that I had to get rid of because of a financial crisis I ran in to, well I'm happy to say I am making a comeback to airsoft, that said I plan on the purchase of the ICS, nothing like the feeling of an all cold metal black AK in your hands.

I look forward to seeing some of you guys at games later on this year.

First off, ICS is the way to go, it has good reliable parts (same as TM) but with a pretty much all metal body, you could replace the stock and front hand grip with wooden parts if you wished, though you would have to hollow out the stock if you did so. i would recommend getting a wood front hand grip with the ICS AK74m, and the paint the stock to be 'Mock' wood.

The CA AK is cosmetically better than the ICS, I would say. Both have good weight to them, and feel sturdy, but the finish and details on the CA are a bit better. Outwardly, very equal guns, though.

Internally, I don't have enough experience to say.
