What do you want to upgrade?
To make a sniper rifle really effective, you're looking at somewhere between $500 and $1,000 more in parts. But again, this depends on exactly what it is you want to replace.

I've got over $1000 in extras in my TSD VSR clone I bought for like $300 from buyairsoft.ca (It came with a scope but no scope mounts from them). And I still want more. The hop up unit sucks. I have put Laylax everthing into it (zero trigger w/ piston, cylinder, cylinder head, bolt handle, bearing spring guide and 170 spring). The piston/trigger sears WILL break very soon on the stock unit. I like where mine is at now but I need to get an upgraded hop up unit and a tighter bore barrel. I would recomend a 6.03 mm at the biggest. I was stupid and bought the PDI 6.05 mm and the stock barrel was tighter. LOL. I stuck a silencer adapter in the end of mine after I took out the orange plastic tip and made a silencer out of teflon on my buddy's lathe. Then I put the longer barrel in and the new silencer hides it nicely.

First, I'd recommend replacing the stock barrel with an aftermarket tightbore, as well as a new hop-up chamber and rubber. Beyond that I'll let people who have actually upgraded theirs give advice.

If you don't know what to upgrade or why, you shouldn't really be upgrading your gun. Play with it stock for a while and see what you like and don't like about it.

You can't JUST buy a spring either, or it will wreck your internals. If it's a higher FPS spring, you will have to upgrade some other things so your mechbox won't take a beating.

He doesnt have a mechbox, hes running a BASR.....the most likely thing he will break by increasing his fps is his trigger seer....
