Springfield Armory SOCOM II
Now, this is a beautiful gun. It's obviously an M1A variant, but my question is:
Has any companies ever built anything that looks like this?

the stock is made by J. Allen Enterprises (JAE-100). I used to love it, but now i have grown away from it. Looks better on the SOCOM 16 version than the full length IMHO. On the full length it looks too sniper, and i think, defeats the purpose of the M14, which is a designated marksman's rifle. still i like the look of it, i just prefer the wood stock full length M14. but i love the SOCOM 16 JAE stock. I want them to make the R700 SA stock (aka: JAE-700). Now THAT is badass and looks like what it is supposed to look like, a sniper rifle. Some pics for your viewing pleasure:
I love this gun and i would love it for CA to make this, or at least another company to put on a CA M24 My personal favourite and the only time i would ever put a JAE stock on an M14 variant A very nice setup, but as i explained, IMHO, its too sniper-ish and not DM enough for my tastes. I guess its all about the look your are going for. I love the DM look and have never been too fond of ghillie suits. Whatever, Jedem das sein... to each his own |

I agree. I'm not a huge Ghillie fan either.
I like the really thick body with the millions and millions of rails that are completely useless with the short barrel (like I posted above) look. I guess I'm just one of those people that likes to dress up a gun to make it look fancy.

The JAE doesnt need the Socom II top rail to get side rails, there is an option from JAE for 9" side rails either side. The JAE stock was designed for a bench shooting stock though, not a military stock. Like Donster its JAE + Socom or bust, but for real steel if i had to pick a JAE or a EBR chopmod id pick the chopmod if i have to field it.

Damn, I'd pay out the nose to be able to slap that on my SOCOM or my VSR.

Full length M1A's are the shit, man. Can't wait for one to come into stock somewhere so I can scoop it up for my shooting (and probably hunting) pleasure. I'm talking RS, btw.

Acually i own one , the only company that makes them is kart right now . the jae body is great , the metals all look very good . I havent fired it much due to work as soon as i get time ill post a review . I will say however it seems to be well made and is like a latest of kart generation of guns. i did read somewere that the usmc is looking at this as a replacement for the ebr in some cases as they have had some issues with them .
