Quiet/Silent motor thread

So I've been doing a little research to find quiet motors. I've got an EG1000 pulling an m120 spring with double torque helical gears in between. I am fairly impressed with the sound level so far, but I wouldnt mind experimenting to reduce the sound even more.

Post your quiet motor setups or you results from attempts at finding a quiet motor!

wrap your grip with dynamat as well as lay pieces on the lower receiver where the mechbox is. leaving cutout for your selector of course.

hope you have big hands cause it makes the grip quite thick. I've tried it with a small piece of B-Quiet that I cut off the roll for my trunk.

The EG700 is more quiet than the EG1000, FYI.

it's also better for your high torque setup.

I believe the EG700 has more torque even though its slower, as well as quieter.

I find that reducing motor noise doesn't make a difference in a game for what other players can hear. My TM M14 has a barely louder shot report than motor/gear noise, and its impossible to hear the shot report from more than 100 feet away when shooting on semi. People always talk about quieting guns by reducing motor noise because thats what they hear as the mechbox is right beside their head. The noise from a mechbox doesn't carry nearly as far as the report from the piston impact. Even a standard gun with average gear/motor noise levels, with a properly baffled silencer, will be next to impossible to locate when firing on semi. The only time you would have to worry about loud gears/motors is when really close to people but then you also have to worry about hearing foot steps, cloth brushing up against cloth, and even breathing so its kinda pointless.

If you really want to test a gun, don't fire it. Get someone else to fire it from 75-100 feet away and then listen.

Hm less zipping sound of the gears always satisfies me

I've also heard eg700 is one of the quietest motors, and I'm about to get one. I can tell you how it sounds after I do (but it'll be a while), but they're only 40 bux so what the hay haha.
