RK47 & AK47 - Whats the difference?

Hi guys, Gordo here with a quick question again. Everyone knows what an AK47 is right, but what the heck is RK47?

I see that G&G seems to favor these RK riffles rather than the AK versions. They look like nice guns to me, but I'll be damned if I can tell the difference between the two.

Is the RK just and AK that was manufactured in a country other than the Soviet Union?

RK47 is their model number for the ak47

the G&G RK47's are one of the nicest stock AK's I've seen at this price-point (VFC being above it)

G&G actually put an amazing attention to detail into the gun with the whole faux piston and everything.

The only thing I think they could improve on is a coat of lacquer on the wood, I don't really like the dull wood finish.. But the wood its self is super solid, I was extremely impressed with this gun.

RK47 is just their name for the AK47, It's identical to the AK47, only difference being it comes with a side mount so you can mount soviet optics

Well the RK is actually your basic Soviet AK47 *Not AKM needs different muzzle brake as well as different trunnion areas or something along those lines* except that G&G does not have the liscensing rights to call it an AK so they decide to call it an RK. Literally its an airsoft gun that looks like an AK, but doesnt have the proper lisencing and trades to be an actual AK replica AEG (Chinese ones may call thers AK's because of their nonexistant copyright laws). From what ive heard the RK series is very well built internally and the disassembly is somewhat realistic however the Stock tangs on the receiver are not very strong and have been known to break down on several ocassions, I personally would not recommend purchasing one. In the event that you are interested in the AK series in the 47 caliber 7.62x39 VFC is coming out with an AKM, which looks promising however Ancorp (Resident AK god, who you must appease if you have any hope of surviving in the field with an AK or one of its derivatives) does not approve of it. Id suggest getting an ICS AK74 or a Dboys/Kalash AK. Hope i helped and good luck in your AK adventure.
