G&G M16 with an M120?

Hey guys, I just got myself a G&G M16 and i'm wondering if it can handle a systema M120 spring in it's stock form. If not, what do I need?

Thanks in advance

What velocity are you trying to achieve? I got ~400fps just with Modify SP100+ and Modify cylinder set.

Modify is a great brand and very affordable. Systema is good, but often overrated. There have been reports in the past of their springs self-destructing.

To get a GR16 to between 400-430fps, I'd recommend the following items:
- Sorbothane cylinder head cushion replacement
- Modify Cylinder set
- Modify SP100+ (~400fps) or SP110+ (over 400fps) spring
- Prometheus soft hopup bucking

The above list represents more or less what it took me to achieve 400fps in my GR16 without issue. I reshimmed the gears while I was in there, too.

So once i have all that stuff, am i set to just spring-swap the gun anywhere between 400-500FPS? I wouldn't ever consider getting it THAT high, but I want my gun durable enough to take anything, you know what i mean?
or do I need stronger gears or a new motor or something? I was considering a new motor, just to shake things up, but if the stock motor can get me 700-800 RPM I'm fine with that.

I'm using a Systema M120 + Prometheus 6.03 in my GR-16 R4 and I'm always between 390 and 400fps. I've been using this setup since the end of last summer. Everything sounds nice and feels like this setup is going to last long *knocks on wood*

500fps is impossible with what I suggested. At most, you're probably looking at 440fps if you opt to go with the SP110+.

Stick with the SP100+ and you don't need anything beyond what I suggested. I was getting a good ROF with a 9.6 1400mah mini with my setup, and did not experience any durability issues.
