socom gear made this special edition 1911: http://socomgear.com/english/index.p...products_id=22
You might also be able to use any Marui 1911 threaded outerbarrel, and there are a few 1911 threaded barrel available for Marui 1911 platform(SD, Nineball, for example). Does it do anything, probably not. It seems to make the gun sound different, not necessarily quiter. It also will probably hamper the cycling of the gun with the added weight. Besides, most noise GBB makes are from the clunking made by the slide cycling... |

Generally there are 3 types of silencer treads that are used frequently, +14, -14, and friction hold ones that grip onto any cylindrical surfaces. For most GBBs, they'll need threads as there isn't enough exposed barrel to attach the 3rd type. In your case you'll need to find a compatible threaded outer barrel in order to attach a suppressor. If none exist you may have to resort to getting a 14mm drill/tap and do it yourself.
As for the effects, a suppressor can sometimes reduce the sound signature by a fraction of a fraction of a decibel. The majority sound produced by a GBB is the movement of internals and venting of gas from the blowback mechanism, so you shouldn't expect much of a change in sound signature. What some people choose to do, is get an oversized innerbarrel, and use the silencer to aesthetically hide it. This gives an advantage on accuracy and FPS while maintaining a realistic look. Remeber when shopping for silencer to stay within Canadian stores. Silencers are illegal to import, so don't expect them to get through Customs. Some of the local retailers should have silencers in stock if you look around.

Just like a real handgun, most of the noise comes out the breach. the MK23 is quiet because there is no external movement and the gas is ONLY being used to propel the BB, everything else internally is done mechanically. |
