Raijin 9.6V 2500mAh: low discharge rate?
Hello all
don't buy these batteries for airsoft!! so I bought this expensive battery small with a high capacity, for my AUG, to crank either a SP100 or a SP110 spring. the cells on this battery are a bit thinner than on an intellect 2000 mAh, same length. however once I charged it carefully at 150 mA for 18 hours,it was giving me more than 11V, but couldn't crank a SP100. plus it behaved weirdly and did crank it a few times after some attempts on different mechboxes, then stopped forever, even after some recharging. it's not broken, the cable is ok, it gives a clean constant current. I'm thinking this may be due to the smaller cells that have a insufficient discharge rate.(which sucks) what do you guys think?

Yes.
Those packs suck. The "numbers" are good, but I've had only problems with getting them to push bigger springs. M100's are ok. They labour with M110's and M120's are a fantasy. Even brand new and freshly charged. Just wait until they're a bit used/abused...they just don't have the "guts" |

Jimski, can the fatter celled Intellect fit the AUG also? If so, buy this;
http://ebaybanned.com/product_info.p...oducts_id=1174 I own exactly that Firefox 2300mah, as well as a 2300mah pack of slightly thinner cells, much like the ones your 2500mah does. The firefox has a top notch rate of fire on a 400fps gun. The thinner celled one can barely crank it. Its discharge rate is pathetic. Even on a lower velocity guns you can tell. On semi auto the response is very slow, on auto, the first shot is slow, the rest are some what acceptable. Basically each burst you hear: "wrrrrrpop, wrpop wrpop" "wrrrrrrrpop, wrpop, wrpop"

and what if I change the tamiya plug (15 amp maxi) to a gold-plated banana plug?
will I get more current or am I just fooling myself?

Did that...didn't change much (but the battery was 4-5 charges used by then...so don't know for sure).

Jimski, get Elite cell batteries from CheapBatteryPacks.com
I use one to pull a Systema M120 and it lasts all day - 1500mAh. |

+1 to the Elite cell batteries from cheapbatterypacks.com.
I got a massive one (9.6V 4000 mAh!) and I also pull a Systema M120. Does it with beautiful trigger response and lasts forever.

Check my Lipo Thread in the upgrade & modifications section, every battery has a maximum constant safe discharge rate. It's not a bad pack, it just was never designed to used with a high amperage draw load. The reason it did work but now never has that cranking power again is because it's absolute maximum discharge rate has been exceeded and the composition is partially destroyed. No biggy, easy enough mistake to make when nobody tells you.
If your dead set on Lipo, I'd check out Thunder Power, Polyquest, Elite, Kokam (recently began manufacturing hi-dischage packs), E-Flight, Flight Power EVO, and others available through mail from Great Hobbies. |

thank you folks!
I don't really want to go lipo... Styrak: these? simply put: where can I get the highest discharge rate that I can use in an AUG ? (which means no more than 34 X 34 X 97 mm for the whole pack) I have this one that I'm very satisfied with:
