Modified Echo 1 M4 Commando Problems
Hi, I own a M4 Commando, recently i put new low resistance wiring it, came with new trigger assembly. I put it all in, check everything over, reassembled the gun. I got it all together worked great for about 5 shots and stopped firing. At the point the trigger also stop having the normal resistance to firing it normally did. After that i took it all apart again. Looked it over again, nothing was out of place, so i put it back together again. Same thing, stops firing after a couple shots. If i take the gun apart and put it back together it will work for a little bit but then stops firing.
Any Ideas. |

im thinking you probably have a loose connection either to the motor or the connectors

I just had this issue. It could be the same problem I had. There is a little metal stud that sticks up on the gearbox behind the switch assembly. Well, to the left of it. It stops the switch block, the part that moves when you pull the trigger, from travelling too far away from the switch (ie, too far to the left). Mine was gone and it took me a while to figure it out. You just need a new mechbox shell. Hopefully this helps and that is your issue.

mine still has the metal stud, i checked
I took off the handle and motor and connected it up with the motor outside (not touching gears just sitting on the table) and it still didn't kick over so i don't think that's it. -- Also sometimes when i put it in Auto or Semi, it still act like it is on SAFE, like i can't pull the trigger. The little spring i lose from the selector plate, but that only affects semi auto doesn't it? Last edited by illicit; November 2nd, 2008 at 19:27.. |

Do you have the spring from the trigger sear?

if you mean the spring the attaches to the contact and the mechbox to pull it back, yes.

I'll bet there's a mis-match between the square top of the trigger (that part that actually pushes against the switch block) and the edge of the switch block. If you can't feel it catching/pushing...then it's not.
With the mechbox shell apart and everything laid out nice on your workspace, take out the sector gear. You should be able to hook the motor leads up to the motor, connect the battery and gently pull the trigger. The selector plate should be in semi or full...doesn't matter. If it moves the swith...the motor should spin. If it doesn't, something is wrong with your wiring.. Reassemble the mechbox (you can even leave the spring/piston/sector gear out for this test), leave the motor hooked up and pull the trigger...the motor should spin. If it doesn't (but did a minute ago) your trigger isn't pushing the switch block, or else the block isn't getting inbetween the metal fingers enough. Put your old switch back in...you can resolder on the new wires if you want. Tys |

Ok, i took everything out and attached the motor and battery up, with the gear box open, it all worked fine, then i put the gear box on, still all worked good :<
