Battery's wont charge.

I have a smartcharger that when I plug my 8.4v into it reads 1.3v and when i try to charge, even at the lowest amperage, it will initialize the charging process but halts after about 5 seconds. So im thinking its the bat, so i try my 9.6v and it reads 3.5v and same thing happens. The only issue is that I had to splice a large/large tamiya to make it a large/mini tamiya, would this have any bearing on it not charging? both these batts have charged before using this charger. I have searched the forum but to no avail. they are both NiMH if that helps.

(I apologize in advance for the grammer/run-on sentences, this is written from my crackberry)

Thanks!

Only this I can see is that your splicing job is soo poor that the resistance it creates prevent the charger from working.

Just find someone to make an adapter for you or buy one online.
