new spring for a kirenex
hey my brother got his kirenex the other day. the spring in it is clearly worn out as it appears that its previous owners did not know what they were doing judging by all the random .12 g bbs in the box
so i was looking at a phx 120 m/s spring and i was wondering if that brand was any good cuz i never head of them before. http://cgi.ebay.com/PHX-120-M-S-AEG-...742.m153.l1262 i was also looking at a pdi 170. not sure what would be better hes looking for one that will give his gun fps in the 380 to 400 range

Well that would definitely be in the right range. As for quality I'm not sure.
You could also get a Systema M120, or Prometheus MS110sp or MS120sp and know it's good quality. |

PDI springs are shit and very inconsistent, as far as I know.

I second the Prometheus MS110SP spring. It's what I install in my guns. Gives me 360-380 fps.

guarders and modifys seem to be decently priced online but every brands number system is different and im a little over loaded with information at the moment so im not sure which number of either of those id need for him
im wanting to shop with ehobby but their new site doesnt show fps's of the different springs, only their number rating

so according to that chart hed be good with a gaurder sp100 or 110?
its a used kirenex.... i dont really want his gearbox to get much more worn out than it already is any time soon. i mean ffs... when i opened it up to install some metal bushings there wasnt a single drop of oil or grease anywhere in the entire thing. it was completely dry, so i had to do that too i think im going to lean towards the sp100 cept ehobby doesnt appear to have one. i really would like to see him with at least 390fps

V3 gearboxes are pretty sturdy so you don't have to worry much. You might want to add metal bushings like you said, and maybe a bearing spring guide too.

Aww dammit I was thinking AK for some reason, maybe because of your picture. Yeah V2 would be more prone to breakage especially at 400 FPS. Definitely get metal bushings, bearing spring guide, and maybe a Sorbo pad too.

yea ive heard that and it worries me about my jg 416. i think its up around 390 to 400 fps. not sure what kinda clone its gearbox is but it has sb or something stamped on it and i was impressed with its internals
but anyway... i guess ill have to refer back to that chart later to find a dif spring since ehobby doesnt seem to have the gaurder sp100

ok well thanks for the help styrak. the chart helped me make a decision
i went with a systema m120. if i think its too strong for his kirenex ill switch it with my krakens or one of my other gearboxes and oh.. btw. whats the half inch long thing sitting loose not attatched to anything inside the piston that looks like part of a compressed spring?
