Semi Auto not working,,, no matter what

Hey guys, so for the life of me I can not figure this one out.

So I've been trying to figure this out for quite a while now.

My semi auto doesn't work on my M4A1, and I've first suspected that there was something wrong with the cut off lever.

so I got my Gun Doc to install a systema cut off lever first. Tested it later and it still fired full auto no matter what.

So I've replaced it again with a Modify Cut Off Lever and it got somewhat better. It's shooting 2/ or 3 round burst on Semi now. It SOMETIMES fires Semi, but less often than it would fire burst.

So I have no idea anymore, what could be wrong?

I was wondering if there are any MOSFETS I can install to fix this problem as well?

Any help would be appreciated

thanks!

Is cut off lever set with propely springs?
Is it the screw too thigted ?

When your gb open, can you pull the trigger and see if it works propely (head of the cut-off in switch well placed?)

Have you checked your sector gear for casting errors?

Check the part the electrical contact piece that the cut-off lever pushes. Maybe it's not the cut-off lever but something elsewhere in the chain.

problem fixed, this guy over at arnies at the same experience and this was his post for future reference:

"Okay.. I guess that settles it. There's nothing wrong with the cut-off lever. The problem is with the trigger pull - you're feathering it.

With a real gun, the trigger sear will release the hammer, and fire the gun, the same way regardless of the trigger pull. Real gun shooters feather the trigger so as not to jerk the gun and spoil the aim.

AEG triggering works differently. If you feather the trigger, the switch slide moves just enough to make contact with the contact prongs (sending power to the motor and cycle the piston).. BUT not forward enough for the cut-off lever to disengage it. The AEG will keep firing until the vibration makes you do pull the trigger all the way or let it go.

The most immediate solution.. is to change your triggering habit. Always pull the trigger all the way.

As already mentioned, another solution is to spread the contact prongs wider apart so that it the switch slide has to go all the way forward (which, just the same, requires the shooter to pull the trigger all the way) before making contact.

That's it."

Check the shimming - in my pro-win I found if I had a wide shim on that side, the cut off lever couldn't cut it off all the time. That problem was easy to spot because it was a split mechbox.

EDIT: Ah, I see you found the problem. That's what I get for starting a response, and leaving it for a half hour before hitting send.

Once I opened a mech box to fix the lack of semi and it was a loose shim stuck in the cut off. Look for anything that could cause problems in there, hell even thick lubricant (ie dirty) could be causing it.
