Ubi had nothing to do with it. It was developed by EA Montreal.

First off - I think it's a neat idea and very well executed, and I don't want you to think my post is negative or critical of you, personally. :S

The problem with it not being real steel weight is that everyone will just start making them. If there's no real downside to having it then it would just unbalance the 'game' to the point where it isn't fun any more. Imagine playing an attack/defend game where every single one of the defenders had a thin metal shield the didn't hinder their movement or their aim in any way.

There's a reason that not every single soldier carries one of those around; to be effective they have to weigh about 40lbs...

In the end - AS is about trying to be realistic; using a tiny piece of sheet metal that you can bend with your hands is just not realistic.

Valid point with the complication of the weight balancing the game, I agree with that aspect for sure. As I said, this is just a first draft, and I may go ahead with putting something heavier on and counter weight it in the stock so my gun will be quite heavy at that point.

Shijima, I'm happy you played and enjoyed our game but yeah, as vatek said, EA Montreal made it and not Ubi. I know Multiplayer sucks.

tycho; this is based off a game; quite hard to make it real steel. Besides; even if it protects you well and even if I worked on the game that showed that gun part, I wouldn't put that on my gun. Taking that rule to the extreme would mean that if I have ceramic plates in my vest I should take more than one hit. Airsoft is a game; it's far from real life and my opinion would be to set it up on a per game basis but that's just me.

Ugly. I wouldn't put it on my gun unless I was planning on doing alot of prone work or shooting around corners. More or less just useless dead weight, which is going to obstruct your field of view when looking down your rifle.

I'm sure even if everyone could get away with one on their rifles, many wouldn't, just doesn't turn everyone's crank.

Although, it is good to see people out to grasp the strings of imagination and do something to their armalite that doesn't involve a sight, a vert grip, magpul anything, or rails (Nik 1, Armalite 0)

Lol, of course this doesn't interest everyone infact I would say a very small % of ppl would be interested in something like this. But to each his own indeed, but I believe the score is in favour of the armalite as they make up half of the AEGs at any given game... can't argue with those numbers. Definitely hard to make yours look unique though I love seeing so many other guns on the field though I'm not some M4 fanboy.

it looks cool as it's a faithful reproduction from the game, but I don't see it as being particularly useful in a game. I wouldn't care if someone wanted to use it, I'd see it as a hinderance on their gameplay anyways. Just a bigger target to get a gun hit and take their gun out of play.
