CA33e folding stock

I've heard that you can put an MP5 or G3 style stock on a CA33e, however I'm running into issues. I pm'ed the folks I know who have folding stocks on theirs, but haven't received a response.

I've tried two different MP5 stocks, however I find that the groove on the right side of the CA33e is narrower than the left and I would have to do some series (possibly destructive) dremel work. The slither stock from the KSC HK33K seems to fit, however there's issues with the sling point getting in the way.

I'd prefer a right side folding stock over a slither stock regardless.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated !

MP5K PDW Folding Stock. UMP Folding stock fits as well.

To fit a slither stock, you have to file about .8 - 1.5 mm's off of the inner part of the arms on the stock, that go along the grooves on the reciever.

I got about half way and said to hell with it, but thats how your going to go about that.

I think one of the stocks I tried is the same...who makes that specific stock you used and where did you get it ? Thanks for the reply

I used a Classic Army MP5K Folding Stock, it's the same as the TM PDW Stock.

Bought it off a guy in downtown Van ages ago.

I gotta necro this, I'm going batshit insane.

I've been told, that an MP5k PDW stock will work on the CA33e. Here's a picture of what that stock looks like, everywhere I go to buy one : http://www.airsoftscotland.com/acata..._pdw_stock.jpg

You'll notice that unlike BC_k's picture, there is nothing which slides over the back of the receiver with single pin to secure it.

I tried what I'm quite sure is a TM MP5 RAS stock as pictured here : http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwol...il?prodID=8931

This however does not fit, since the groove on the right side of the receiver is smaller than the groove on the right, so I can't actually get this stock to slide on without dremel work.

Here's a G&G UMP stock which I'm told should work : http://www.airsoftextreme.com/store/...roducts_id=889

Mantelope has put a UMP style stock on this CA33e, however there's a noticeable difference between what you see in the link above, and the picture of his modification in this thread : http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthr...ighlight=ca33e

I'm lost, because what I've been told by other folks either doesn't add up, or I've found out just plain doesn't work despite being told otherwise.

Whoever can get me a link to a place where I can buy a folding stock which fits on the CA33E without modification, gets a free Gun Gas Kit (BNIB Airsoft Innovations, propane and duster adapters, silicone, and propane gauge) shipped to them. Hell I'll throw in $5 with the package as well.

Bear with me, going entirely on memory in my head on this and a few external only pictures of my old gun.

CA33 MP5K Stock Mod.

Either brand of MP5K folding stock, from TM or CA will fit.

Remove the full stock from the CA33E, and disconnect the battery wires.

The stock, an stock mount, there is two screws inside there, undo them and seperate the stock and the metal mount for it.

In the mount, notice the rectangular shaped hole where the battery wire goes through.

Take note of the ledges around it in there, they are approx 1cm or so in length on all sides. Will return to this later.

Now you need a PDW stock, CA or TM works. On the stock, there is the side has the part the two body pin's on the mp5k go through. unscrew this and remove it from the stock.

The metal form that the stock is attached too, drill two holes in it, that are approx 2-3cm's apart.

Drill them vertically, so when you've shouldered the gun, one hole is near the top of receiver, an one is on the bottom side. Now leave the PDW stock.

Now you will need some sheet metal, or any sort. Steel is best for this, stainless if you have it even better.

Here is a template for what you need the sheet metal for.

It is a metal plate, that goes in your CA33's stock mount, the metal part that you took off. See how the flaps sticking out will be cut to fit the ledges in the mount I mentioned before. The one I made was only about 1-2mm's in thickness.

After you cut that out, an drill two holes in the same place you drilled them through the PDW stock's plate, run two bolts through there with washers on em and tighten it all up.

Use some loc-tite to keep it on there for long time.

There ya go, PDW stock on CA33.

As for the wires, you can run them up along into the front of the gun and house a battery there or drill a 3 hole for wires to run through out the stock and use a battery pouch/sling/ect.

I'd done both methods. 3rd hole is easiest.

Basically this requires that I still have part of the old stock, if I'm reading it correctly. Unfortunately, mine broke and I threw everything out.

BAH.

Thanks very much for the information all the same, it's very much appreciated. You can have that GBB kit if you want =)

Hey man, here's the key: use a G3-style stock. The CA33E stock attachment is exactly the same, except it's missing the front pin; all you need to do is cut off the front few centimetres of the bottom of the stock. Compare:

to this:

and you'll see exactly what was cut. Quick and easy with a dremel. Also, I found that the stock was EXTREMELY tight on the body, so I sanded down the inside of the stock attachment a bit. Thankfully this makes the whole gun ROCK solid, more solid than with the "solid" stock.

So you basically just cut out the second pin...very cool, that's easier than what I was going to try to do.
