Want to get a tightbore barrel for my CA M15 Rifle...
Today I had the chance to play my first game and fielded my M15A4 rifle as my main gun for most of the day. The gun has already been upgraded with Systema bearing spring guide, piston, silent piston head, silent cylinder head and tappet plate. I also have a Systema hopup rubber, but wiht the stock CA bucking. The spring is a Prometheus MS110SP spring. The gun shoots pretty consistently at about 360 fps and was a joy to field, having got me 4 kills.
The only thing I really want to do with this gun now is to increase its accuracy. It's quite accurate as it is now, but it needs a tightbore barrel to give it maximum accuracy. I've looked around and have seen tightbore barrels from all the main manufacturers. However, there seems to be a hell of a lot of choice - moreso that I can really differentiate as a noob that hasn't experienced tightbores yet. I was wondering if one you more knowledgeable people could point me in the direction of which tightbore would be the best suited for my gun in its current configuration.

I run a Prometheus 6.03 in most of my guns, real accurate, I know for a fact you can use flying color and ksc perfects in them. The only thing is once you get a tightbore you should really be cleaning it out after every game.

Prometheus, heard alot of good things about Madbull and also Deepfire ones.
PDI 6.01s are not worth the money really. |

So many options... But in no way am I disapointed with the performance of my gun as it was today though. It was absolutely badass, powerful, and accurate. At about about 50 feet and shooting through brush, I left 3 nice welt's on the arm of the girl that was playing with us. This gun kicks ass. lol I think the tightbore is the only upgrade I could now do to this gun to make it perfect.

I got a bag of metaltechs for testing from A&A, and I don't know if it was just a really shitty batch of bbs or my hopup rubber didn't like them but they were all over the place and they even jammed my gun. Furthermore my friend with a gen3 PTW was using them and they were all over the place with the PTW as well. We switched to KSC perfects and both guns shot like they were supposed to.
Again I don't know if it was just a really bad batch or what was going on there, my friend with an M14 and tightbore swears by them. |

Sniper Hunt 2 last year, at chrony time, the supplied MechTech 0.20g jammed up almost every single gun with a tightbore (except my M24 with 6.03mm) but was rather amzing to see a half dozen guys clearing out their guns and reloading the mag to try to chrony again.
Only so much accuracy yo ucan get out of an Armalite, so hit up Jugglez and get a Deep Fire or other cheaper tightbore. Just make sure it's a stainless one, don't bother with the coated ones, they cause problems after repeated use. Prometheus is a very good brand, but pricy compared to say a DF 6.04mm (roughly a $20 difference, for close to same performance). |

I've used mostly Systema 6.04mm tightbores, but more rather through happenstance than conscious choice. They've worked well with all the BBs I've put through them (KSC, MT, MB but the majority has been BB Bastards).
I had a DeepFire 6.04 SS barrel and it shot very nicely. It was 550mm long and shot nice tight groups. Consistency in shot to shot FPS + length of barrel + tightbore = accuracy |

I ended getting a Deep Fire SS 6.04mm barrel. I haven't had a chance to shoot it outdoors yet to test its accuracy though. It did chrony about 10 fps higher than with the stock barrel.

Prometheus 6.03s w/ KSC Perfects for the win.
I have a Prom. barrel in my M14 and my SCAR and they both work like a dream. Tried using a Deepfire tightbore in my C7A2.. ya, its gettin replaced. I find Deepfires are poor barrels. Very inconsistently made. Expect to see one in the for sale section very soon :P
