I tried to 2 screws on he buttplate. Am I supposed to twist ior pull hard

after those two screws are off. Or is there someting else holding it down?

Try sliding the butt plate downwards after the screws are off.

I think he means to try to slide the butt plate (after taking out the screws) down and off like you would slide the battery cover off a cell phone or a remote control.

On most, once you take the screws out, the whole "end" usually falls off, but some slide on (I might be thinking of AK stocks..but whatever) and kind of snap into place.

To remove the stock completely from the body, most full M16 stocks are either held on by one long screw (the top one) or a shorter one deeper in the stock. If the top screw that you took off from the butt cap wasn't really long (i.e. as long as the stock and then some), look down into the stock and you should find another screw that pins the stock to the body. Remove that, watch that you don't rip your wiring apart and slide the stock straight back off the body.

Hope that helps, good luck!
