Short answer? Yes you'll blow out your motor. Insofar as I know, motors are designed to operate with specific voltages. All that info should be included in any manuals that came with the gun if it's one of the higher grade ones.

im pretty u should do some research before posting,

using a battery with higher voltage (within reason) like the 7.2 to 12v should be ok on an aeg, when talking about motors, some cheap motors may break with a 12v, not 100% on that one tho, any quality motor u can use 12v battery

the main concern is ur gears will take more of a beating with higher voltage,

the motor has to have a rating of 12 volts... you take a 7.2 volt rated motor and hook it up to 12 volts its like hooking a 110ac motor too 220, your going to let the magic blue smoke out. and let me tell you theres no way to get it back in...

Here's another battery question:

I've got a CA SCAR-L, it's got room for a mini battery, but the internals have been upgraded a wee bit:

• Madbull tightbore inner barrel
• Madbull piston
• Systema silent piston head
• Forget the spring m130 I think (350fps)
• Metal bushings
• Upgraded tapet plate

Would a 8.4v 1100mah be sufficient for full day playing? Or do I need to go bigger? If so, does anyone have any tips on fitting a large battery in a SCAR? (I'm thinking of the easy way and getting a battery bag for the stock, or one of those laser battery holder things if need be).

Someone once mentioned to me that I might need a large (he might actually have said 'powerful') battery... but the battery compartment is fit for a mini, not a large (though I've thought of the battery bag idea)

Thanks.

If you have an M130 it should be pushing higher FPS than that.

I have a M120 in my AUG, shooting 400 fps, and I played all day with a single 8.4v 1500mAh NiMH mini. Had a spare in case I needed it, but it never happened. Ran through over 1000 rounds. Yours has a little less mAh, so you might need a little higher mAh rating, or a second backup battery just in case.

Well the spring is an unknown at the moment, the upgrade stats I posted were what was PM'd to me (copied and pasted from the PM even) when I purchased the SCAR. Also, I'm not positive what the mah rating is on my battery... likely close to what I posted, but for the purposes of my post I just used a BB Bastard battery rating as I'll likely be getting the battery/charger set from him.

Which will put me at having 2 minis which'll likely be sufficient for a day, but I figured I'd ask anyway.
