AKS and M4 stocks?

hai guys, Id like to use either a replica of VLTOR's stock adapter, or King Arms' one to put an AR stock on an AK. Only problem is, the AK in question in an AKS74UN. Meaning that the stock locking mechanism is built into the rear of the receiver, right where the normal stock adapter would fit. I was wonderin if anyone out there knowledgable enough with AKs could tell me if theres any way to remove the locking mechanism, grind it down, whatever, and make an adapter for a standard marui receiver fit an AKS receiver....?

Halp plox, and many tanks.

100 poasts hellyeah!

If I recall correctly you're in the US, aren't you...? If so, in your case, I think it would be easier and cheaper to just get another receiver. You can get one from RSOV for like $25.

ah, yes but the 74un is not just a normal ak receiver with a compact foregrip, the receiver sets are completely different. A standard length ak receiver would not fit my foregrip, and id like it to be compact. Its going to be a cqb gun.

nevermind... I do believe in light of new evidence that the receiver on the 74un is the same length, just the like... gas....block... thing. Not the front sight block, not the machinery cover, but the... other piece, the section that holds the rear sights, -it is the one that got shortened. So I think, not sure, but I think youre right, which means im retarded but hey im happy I think I can make my dream AK. Woopidydoodahday.

Simple solution:

Don't put an AR stock on an AK... EVER.

why in gods name would you want to put an M4 stock on an AK? I had the displeasure of handling one of the real steal ones....not good in the least bit. Honestly, the AK stock is already short enough to tuck properly...

something like that. Ended up going with this: http://redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/ai...l?prodID=22179 since I needed a new body and grip anyways. Im going with a black and tan color scheme, then taking a Yuengling Black & Tan label, and taping it to the stock. Just one more reason why I should put an AR stock on my AK. But the main reasons would be that its more comfortable and unique. Im getting a bunch of other stuff for it, pimping it out. Ill post pics once Ive got it all together..
