Whats the deal with the Kraken hopup?
Alright, so I have a Kraken on its way. and i've been stumbling across threads saying A) It does have a TM compatable hopup and B) It does not. Though, some say theres a difference between the krakens in the US and whats in canada. I baught from Buyairsoft (Yeah, I know.) and i'm curious now. They have the compatable hopup, right? I'll have a lot of money put down to clean this gun up once it comes around, and i'm curious if i need to add a whole new hopup unit to my list of shit to get.
So, if someone can clear this up for me, it'd be greatly appreciated. Also, anyone know where I can get an AKM style wood frontgrip/stock set in canada? ________ Female advice forums Last edited by Strelok; April 11th, 2011 at 11:38.. |

Step 1: buy Prowin or TM hopup unit
Step 2: remove kraken hopup, throw in garbage Step 3: install Prowin/TM hopup unit The kraken hopup is TM compatible in that it can be swapped out with a TM unit, in its stock form it is not a TM hopup. Also the stock barrel is not a normal AEG barrel so when you swap the hopup unit you will need replace the inner barrel as well. |

I bought a pro-win and instaled it on my kraken no problems, I find that it seems to chew the front of hole in the mag where the bbs come out, I have seen this with o other ak too. So far it feeds ok

froms what I can tell the Clear version of the Kraken has a TM compatible hopup.
But you will want to upgrade the barrel anyway sinse the stock one is so crappy. just go ahead and buy a TM compatible hopup unit and a TM hopup rubber (deepfire is good) and a tightbore barrel 6.04mm is a good size if you don't buy expensive ammo. cheaper ammo tends to jam in barrels much smaller than this.

You should be fine with any tightbore because I assume no one here should be using shitty ammo... I mean... KSC perfects are available from 15-20 bucks a bag of 4000 Seriously. |
