When I was in shop class they really frowned on gun parts in metal shop.

You can get a deburring tool for not too much, you want the aviation type swivel head. That'll take the rough edges off but won't do much for the marks inside.

You people need to be less brutal with the pipe cutter.. I've cut many barrels like that and never ended up with one that jammed...

You just have to make sure you're only tightening it a milimeter with each pass...

I've used pipe cutters tons of times without ever having an ill effect. I always made an effort to never tighten it too much and just to lots of revolutions with minimal pressure.

you put a drill bit INTO the barrel? lol
Typically you use a drill bit twice the size and just clean up the end, but even a file works

Yeah lol. like i said great idea ah? but now i know. anyways i tryed wet sanding inside the inside of the barrel (just the part i fucked) started with 200 and made my way up to 1500 and i think i got read of most of them and it seems to be shooting strait so i may have fixed it.... Keep your fingers and toes crossed.

Thanks for all the help and next time i will defiantly use that thing called common sense.

As for the gun parts in the shop my teacher would not care. ive done stranger things with that lathe.

Same here. & I used a pointy Dremel stone to crown the inside tip of the barrel.

+1, a decent pipe cutter will make a CLEAN cut, and with a deburing bit or tool you can crown the barrel nicely.

... I've used a REALLY cheap 5 dollar Princess Auto pipe cutter... and I've never had a problem.. I guess people are just really impatient.

Ok one more question. does the end of the barrel have to be crowned?

It doesn't HAVE to... Just make sure there's nothing that'll interfeir with the BB's flight path..

And don't stick a drill bit on the inside of the barrel.

Luckily his problem is with a stainless steel tube, so it won't raise any eyebrows if he takes it to the lathe.

Just cut off the end by an inch or so and you are good to go, don't bother trying to fix your fuck up, it won't work. Even if you get most of it cleaned up enough to let a BB pass, what happens if one side is a bit higher on the inside than the other? Air passing the BB won't be equal all around, and could put a slight spin on the BB, which could screw up it's flightpath pretty bad. Take it to school (the inner barrel only), put it in the lathe, cut off the bad section, finish the end ncely and put a slight crown on it, then gently file off any burrs. Trying to fix it won't do anything except possibly make it worse. You can afford to lose an inch on it considering yo uare just going to have it hanging inside a suppressor, so don't take any chances with bad results from trying to fix your fuck up.
