FRom standard to higher FPS...
Upgrading the FPS of a M15A4 CA full metal (tactical carbine)
I didnt receive the gun yet but being a maniac (hehe) i d like to know what it would take to get my basic 310-315 fps to about 350fps without having to change all the internal parts cause i ve been told that this gun somes with a metal gearbox and metal gears already...(kinda upgraded a bit i was told). I m not yet accustomed with all the terms and of course i wont open the gun alone the first time..a guy here in laval (QC) will help me, i just want to know what would be the things i need ty for the feedback |

Get a new piston and piston head (the stock CA one is crappy plastic and won't last long) and a Prometheus 100 spring, maybe a bearing spring guide (Version 2). That should sit you around 350fps and not bog your motor/battery down.

Well, you can go cheap (but good quality) such as a TM stock piston and head set (about $30 or so) or go with Modify (aftermarket, good brand, good prices too). Or you can go more expensive with Systema. Really, not too many brands out there that suck, all are better than CA.

buy your parts (non prohibed) from www.ehobbyasia.com, it's a ebay retailer I thrust, pricing aren't too high. You don't wait too long to receive them from Honk Kong.

I would not use the systema piston. Piston head, yes!, but not their pistons. They have had newer ones but some of them in the past have had issues. Many people do not like their red pistons. Guarder piston heads are also of poor quality. Guarder, Deep Fire, TM and G&P make great pistons and they are all fairly cheap. A new/better battery might be nice if you want a little more ROF. Everything else Stalker said is gold. "What he said"

Send Jugglez a PM and see what he has in stock, he's in Toronto and stocks a lot of stuff. His website is www.airsoftparts.ca
And, get a V2 bearing spring guide for it too, won't cost you much more than $15 and will give you an extra 10-15fps increase. |

Full teeth, the half teeth are for a specific type of gearset (no idea which one), but standard gearsets use the full teeth pistons. CA gears aren't the best, but they are better than nothing.
And that titanium piston is pretty decent, I installed one in a CA M249 recently and works well. |
