Upgrading the KSC G26C

I'm finally ready to splurge the money on upgrades for my KSC G26C. I've had it for about a month now, running on propane, and it's holding up 100%. I haven't noticed any problems as of yet.

So of course, as we all know: if it ain't broke, FIX IT!

I've already decided to get a 50 round mag with a KM/Head Hi-flow valve... (I say KM because it was recommended by a knowledgable source... Anyone know why a KM instead of say, a Hurricane or Firefly?)

Now I just need to decide which brand metal slide/barrel set to buy (and figure out where to get an enhanced recoil guide spring set and enhanced hammer spring... :-? )

WGC has the "TW" metal set for US$65 and UNC has the "HK" set for US$63.
Anyone know what the difference is? Judging by the pictures on the websites, they both seem to have trades...?

If anyone with any experience upgrading KSC Glocks has any info or helpful advice, it would be greatly appreciated.

BTW, the reason I'm trying to stick to UNC and WGC is because, well, Brian can only get stuff from those two, I think

Thanks in advance,
Mirage

You could save a little money by making a hi-flow valve yourself. There's a how-to somewhere on the web, but it basically boils down to cutting one or two of the four "columns" in order to get more gas to flow through.

Although I've done this mod myself, I can't comment on how it compares to a manufactured hi-flow valve, but I have noticed better performance at a slight cost to gas consumption. It also helps to have an upgraded hammer spring as well. I've heard that hi-flow valves and a stronger hammer spring work best together.

I've done tests on stock valves versus home made "high flow valves".

At best, you'd get a 5fps increase. It's not worth the effort. Most of the time, the increases are negligible.

I've upgraded my g26c too.
I bought a laylax upgrade kit, it has thightbore, better spring & better valve and a nice trademark slide.
My gun kicks ass now! Real increase in fps.

Buy your metal slide from eHobby. It's cheaper even WITH shipping.

EDIT: Buy EVERYTHING from eHobby. Much cheaper.
