MP5 maxing out my range and reliability
hello all,
I had a few questions about upgrading my mp5 more than it already has been. I am interested in better compression, and also accuracy and durability as a whole. so far in my gun I have the following: systema m120 systema magnum motor king arms 8mm gearbox prometheous high speed gears systema type O cylinder madbull 6.03 inner barrel (AK length) madbull shark accelerator hopup ( horrible, going to be replacing it with guarder) king arms long silencer 2-6X30 scope 9.6 3600 MAH with all of these parts my gun is shooting around 400 with an ROF of around 22 a sec. my hopup has been messed up ever since instalation, shots are horrible past 30 yards, either going straight up or down. in addition, for some reason ever since the instalation of the new inner barrel, and bucking, my gun only can use higher end bbs....b4 my gun shot great using matrix brand and airsplat brand .25s. any reason as to why? I was told by a friend that I could need a new H nub, is this th case? just over all, what more can I do for my gun that will really give it that edge, accuracy and reliability? I would not like to spend more than 100 dollars more. thanks a lot, babacanoosh |

You don't need to spend more than $100. The problem with your accuracy is probably your hopup rubber. The Madbull one is, as you said, horrible. Replacing it should clear things up.
As for your BBs, it's because you're using a tightbore. Cheaper BBs are more inconsistent in size and smoothness, so they tend to work terribly in tightbores, sometimes even getting stuck. One should always stick to higher end BBs. They're better for accuracy, even in stock barrels. If you want to increase your effective range, you can try shooting slightly heavier than 0.25g BBs as well. Although they travel slightly slower than a lighter BBs, they carry the same amount of kinetic energy. Better yet, because they're heavier, they are a lot less sensitive to cross wind. The result is tighter groupings.

I've had good experiences with Prometheus soft type, it's the purple one.

Well, WGC says the Prometheus hard is for MS135 and up.

Ditch the madbull rubber. It's garbage.
Get yourself a KM Head one that's appropriate to your FPS. |

Not Eye Safe, Pretty Boy Maximus on the field take his picture!

Firing that hard and that fast is going to wear down any hopup rubber alarmingly fast. Drop your FPS to 365 (systema M100), not only will it be MUCH better on your mechbox shell, but your hopup rubber will have a greater effect on your BBs and last longer.
The guarder clear rubber is what I use, haven't tried KM yet but they're supposed to be the best. |
