KJW M9 trigger problem.

Hey everyone.

I am having a little problem that i am sure has a quick and easy fix but i dont know much. The problem is that when i pull the trigger, the hammer cycles but the trigger stays back. From there i can push it forward and fire again. Is it just a trigger spring? I know this is an obvious answer but i am also pretty sure its hard to get to the trigger spring.

Mines doing that right now too, if I find out what it is and how to fix it I'll let you know. Someone will probly answer before I get back though.

yep that sounds like the trigger spring snapped
it'll be easier to source a real steel trigger spring than a replacement from KJW

King Arms makes a spring set it contains 5 springs that are compatable for TM, KJ and HFC M9s.

yup.. talk to illusion or juggelz should be able to get it for u no problem.

The trigger spring is a common problem with KJW M9. It's not a big deal.

+1 to that. And it's cheap too. I ordered the set from WGC because I needed the trigger bar spring. I now have the others as spares just in case. But my M9 has seen well over 1000 rounds (probably closer to 1500) so far and its held up admirably.

How hard are these things to install? I am not one to fool around with the internals of a gun. Any suggestions?

I tend to be qusi-adventurous when it comes to doing work on my pistols. I'm ok with taking off the slide and messing with its internals, although I haven't yet had the balls to dismantle the lower part of the gun. I don't know how hard it is to replace from actual experience, but jsut looking at the blowup diagram of the gun, I'm not confident in myself enough to do it. If I have the trigger problem, I'll be sending my gun and parts to a gun doc.

Just curious Stealth - is that a far enough disassembly of the gun to be able to replkace the hammer spring? I have a 190% spring sitting here that's waiting to be installed, but as stated in my previous post, I don't have the balls to take it apart to do the work quite yet....

I've listed all the steps you need to expose the trigger spring and replace it. If you're extremely careful, the hammer mechanism can remain untouched and you can just assemble everything in reverse order.

If you do mess the hammer mechanism up, it isn't hard to put it back together. Just read the entire thread and you'll see I've listed everything you need to know. There's a tiny spring you don't want to lose, so please read everything before trying.

Thanks for the info, Stealth. Sounds like it's a bit more than I'm willing to attempt on my own right now. My M9 is y favorite pistol, so I don't want to end up messing it up. I'll just leave it as-is for the time being, since it really doesn't NEED that hammer spring. Unless I can find someone experienced that is willing to walk me through the process in person at least once, I'll let it to a gun doc for now.
