Fortunately, most of the upgrades are external so there isn't much work involved other than tracking the parts down. You could figure out what you'd need just by comparing pictures of the two, but here's what you'll need to the best of my memory. From a stock m15 (presuming you have a slither stock version) you'll need:
Full m16-length frontend (inner/outer barrel, handguards) Metal body with diemaco trades Elcan Olive furniture (elcan, handguards, pistol grip, slither stock) Tri-rail Again, most of the parts aren't hard to find. A stock m16 frontend would do the trick if you painted the right parts green. Huang gets metal bodies in from time to time, or you could preorder one from him. The hardest part to find by far is the tri-rail. I don't even know if an airsoft version exists of it. I've heard that by extending the barrel you *may* require a different cylinder, but I'm not an AEG gunsmith and can't advise one way or the other. From my own experience I've had no problems when extending barrels - can someone else comment on this? If you browse through the showcase forums, there's a thread about some dude (a Spaniard, IIRC) who made a near-perfect copy of the a2 down to a proper serial number. It's a good one to check out if you're interested in creating an a2 project. Good luck all the same. |
