Changing Kraken receiver/body

I just got a metal receiver for my kraken and am the process of installing it.
I removed all the screws in the receiver as well as the selector, how do I remove the receiver?

1. Remove four screws from front bottom of the receiver
2. Remove selector switch
3. Remove pistol grip.
4. Remove mechbox

From there it should be pretty straight forward.

Which receiver did you get to replace your stock one?

Once the front screws on the bottom of the receiver are free, remove the forward half of the AEG. By then removing the pistol grip and selector switch the mechbox should be free to slide out of the open top of the receiver.

It may help to first undo the buttplate from the stock, then remove the stock by undoing the screws securing it to the receiver - you'll then have absolutely nothing connecting the mechbox to the receiver.

You have to take the upper off first

Sorry for not specifying that, I assumed that it would be blatantly obvious that the dust cover would have to come off.

Here is a video for you Mike, perhaps it will help more than a written guide;

Yes, remove the top cover, by pushing the button on the rear, and pulling the top up and out. Then remove the screw holding the battery tray, pull the charging handle, and remove the hopup nub and screw under it. Disconnect the spring guide from the takedown button, and remove the battery tray/charging handle assembly.

But I assume you already did this.

Thus yes - selector lever off (and the little gray metal piece that sits underneath), and the pistol grip off, as well as the stock. Then, slide the mechbox upwards, watching for the wiring to leave with it. The selector pieces that sit outside the gearbox will probably fall off if you're not careful. They just sit there, not really attached.

Hey, thanks for that, I didn't know (or think) that there were videos on how to take apart guns. I'll definately be using that in the future!

Thanks again and Merry Christmas!

Thanks guys for your help, I got it done but am left with a 1 inch by 3/4 inch peice of sheet metal which is serrtated at both ends.
I don`t know its function so I left it out, everything appears to function as normal though.
Merry Christmas.
Probably a shim or spacer of some sort.

If you post a pic we could most likely tell you what it is. I'd guess it's the retainer for the rear sling mount.

Nah the sling plate retainer I omitted on purpose, this peice just fell out during removal of the front assembly.
I'm hoping its just something that added strength to the original clear receiver.

Apparently this peice has something to do with the trigger guard, anyhow everything functions fine without it.
I payed $23.00 for the metal body, is there any reason why others are selling these for over $300.00 in Canada?
