G&G Umg Battery Options, is there any other than the known 9.6 1100 Sanyo?
this is the known, specialy made, Sanyo battery that is usualy bought with the G&G UMG AEG
its actualy quite a fine battery, but the prob is, it's only 1100 mah. which totaly destroyed my chance of upgrading to a 120 mps spring. and I found that out the hard way. does anyone here know of a different battery that can fit in the UMG, that can carry a 120 mps spring? im sorry, I don't have the measurments oof the battery space.. so I guess this is a question for personal experience. thank you. |

If you remove the lid to the battery compartment, you should be able to fit a 9.6v battery made from 2/3 A cells like the ELITE1500 cells. Personally I run my UMG with a 8.4v battery made from ELITE1500 cells and that fits nice into the battery compartment. I run it with a M110 spring at a ROF of 22 BBs/sec. or 1320 BBs/min. On the same setup but with a battery pack with 9.6v on the same cells I have achieved a ROF of 26.6 BBs/sec or 1596BBs/min.

Oh yes, one more thing, ELITE has made a 1700mAh AA cell, but I have not seen any experinces with these cell yet. But in paper it looks like it could bee a good thing for UMG owners as they might replace the Sanyo1100 cells.

What's wrong with a 120 spring and an 1100 mAh 8.4v? I run one in my AUG with a 1500 mAh 8.4v and it works fine.

Why use expencive and crappy cells, when you can build a battery from better and cheaper cells? My last build had a ROF of 13 BBs/sec with a sp120 spring and a TM EG1000 motor, whict I personally find a bit boring, as I prefer a ROF of around 20-22 BBs/sec.
When you compair the discharge rates between the sanyo1100 cell with that of the ELITE1500 cell, you will find that a 9.6v battery pack made from the sanyo cells has an equal or lower voltage than a 8.4v battery made from the ELITE cells, after only a short period of work. On top of that, you also have more shots/charge with the ELITE over the Sanyo. Anyway, that was the chain of thoughts I had, when choosing a battery solution for my UMG. |

Its difficult to say as there are no discharge chart available. I have not meet anyone using that cell. But at that price, it's almost worth a try. However if the cell was good for airsoft applications, I think more information would have been available.
