Mechbox and your project

Ok guys! I'm almost done making a list for x-mas (custom M4 project).

Now i need a mechbox. Since i want some reliable that i can basically just 'drop in' i was told to buy a systema mechbox.

Since i have close to zero experience with mechboxes i can only give you a list (from redwolfairsoft) and what it needs to accomplosh.

Drop in.
350fps max (so i can use it in CQB)
Reliable.
Wired to the rear (using a crane stock)
What else do i need?

This is the list (scroll down for the full built one's)

http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwol...menu2=88#18770

Much appreciated, thank you!

SYSTEMA Mecha-Box (Gearbox) 1J (High Speed) for Marui M16A1 / VN (FREE SHIPPING)

SYSTEMA Mecha-Box (Gearbox) 1J (High Speed) for Marui M16-A2 / SR16 - M4 (FREE SHIPPING)

I see no difference between those two. M16 will give you rear wired and using the Spring Guide Illusion made as a rough guide, the M120 will be too hot for your requirements, and the 1 Joule spring should sit you around 300 fps. (In the gun they used to test the springs, half the gearbox upgrades were systema).

Well it al depends on what you want to spend. I have got all Systema parts in my gun except where I somthing better was needed, like Phoenix gears. But then again I spent a ton on all my stuff. If you want an all around great built gun I would go with all Systema internals. Look at the link below to see what I have in my build and then you might know what all you need for yours. But deffinetly do some price searching for a few days once you find exactly what you want. eBay is a good place, and the member eHobbyAisa has lots of Systema stuff at good prices. I am a Systema nut... others members may tell you to get other stuff, its all up to you, your needs and your pocket change. Heres the link to what I have for you to see what is generaly needed in a build.

Sights or optics... or both.
Barrels internal and external
I would get the Madbull Gemtech Talon, it has a full RAS and suppressor and is nice and short, but most of all it just COOL.
You also will need a battery pack and charger
hop-up bucking
and all the thigs you mentioned.

EDIT: opps I forgot... The fps for a m120 is 350 to 400 and the m130 is 400-450. Generaly

with a proper seal, your gun should reach 340ish with a guarder sp90 and bearing spring guide.

1 Joule is designed for Japan/England spec, so it has to be 328 FPS or under - it can't go over 328 or they're in violation of the law as possessing a firearm. The other Systema "Turbo" Mechbox uses an M100 combined with an undersized cylinder to produce extreme rates of fire (up to 40 rounds per second), which Systema advertises as 300 fps.

More info on choosing the right Systema mechbox for your application here: http://redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/ai...l?reviewID=179

The difference between those two are significant. The VN series doesn't require window cutouts in the upper gearbox, whereas all modern Marui Armalites require it for the quick-takedown.

Also, the loading nozzle for the VN is different - a VN gearbox will NOT function in other Armalite models.

Other than that, yes, any of the M16 / SR16 gearboxes will provide wiring to the rear but if you're hooking up a Crane stock, optimally, it doesn't matter what gearbox you get, because you should want to re-wire the circuit directly from the switch. I've seen enough fried batteries due to someone attempting to splice the Crane stock connections in to the wires hanging out the back of the gearbox, only to have the crappy connection break free of the insulation and short out on each other or against the body.

You don't *need* to swap the motor unless you're going for an application that can't hold a large enough battery (and you need a high torque motor to help your battery crank the spring) or you're after an excessively high rate of fire.
