Question Painting reciever cover

I want to paint the lower receiver cover of my AK black, i don't really want to risk taking the whole gun apart to get to it though, and I cant tape up everything around it, is there some way I could use a brush to paint it that wouldn't leave lines?

Nothing can really go wrong with taking it apart, If you dont you will get lines everywhere because of the selector switch and the bolt
Go to mechbox.com and find the ak disasembly guide

Actually the bolt wont affect it... and the selector switch is really easy to remove. I suggest you take the gun apart nonetheless, and use some Krylon spray paint.

A much better option IMO, is to buy a black receiver, like an original Tokyo Marui one. I just so happen to have one of these I could sell you, but thats besides the point

plus its not like you are taking the mechbox apart. that is what frightens me most about starting airsoft. i just hope that i will never have to do it.

Okay, so i got everything away from the receiver other than the Mechbox. One problem.....the piece of metal that the selector switch goes on to juts out from the mechbox past the receiver...... any ideas on how to get the Mechbox out? Not exactly a good thing to change on a clone, huh...

What, the little oval shaped circle that sits on the selector hole? Just pull it out...

Then slide your mechbox out (carefully).
